  • I´m in the process of creating a series of images entitled “Windows”; then this image came up, almost by itself. It reminded me of one of my all time favorite songs: Easy To Be Hard, from “Hair”, the 60s legendary rock musical. If you pay attention to the lyrics, you´ll realize that the world hasn´t changed too much since then. / Here´s the link to this song, performed by one of my favorite pop/rock groups: Three Dog Night. / Easy To Be Hard / There´s an outstanding version of this song by 3DogNight with the London Symphony Orchestra but I´ll keep this reference for another tribute to this Group. Cause, let me tell´ya Eli´s Coming… Easy To Be Hard ( lyrics) How can people be so heartless / How can people be so cruel / Easy to be hard / Easy to be cold How can people have no feelings / How can they ignore their friends / Easy to be proud / Easy to say no And especially people / Who care about strangers / Who care about evil / And social injustice / Do you only / Care about the bleeding crowd? / How about a needing friend? / I need a friend How can people be so heartless / You know I’m hung up on you / Easy to give in / Easy to help out And especially people / Who care about strangers / Who say they care about social injustice / Do you only / Care about the bleeding crowd / How about a needing friend? / I need a friend How can people have no feelings / How can they ignore their friends / Easy to be hard / Easy to be cold / Easy to be proud / Easy to say no

  • A Private Tear
    by Danilo Lejardi

    US$3.99–US$91.20

I guess it doesn´t make much sense to talk about how some words keep floating in our minds for some time, and the need to create something in order to, somehow, get rid of them or, at least, to live in peace with them. It doesn´t make much sense, I know, not here. / The day I read One tear by Linaji I knew I´d have a hard time with the expression “private tear”. This is all I could do to compensate those feelings.

One of the main elements involved in the (African) Yoruba divination system is the divination tray. This tray (Ifá) serves as the template on which sacred signs related to the personal concerns of a diviner’s client are traced as the point of departure for analysis. / This time the idea was that of using this divination tray as a basic platform to display the main Orishas _ the African gods and goddesses_ and their peculiar attributes. / So this is basically a Cinema4D render, made in collaboration with artist Artpearl / She not only contributed by modeling the divination tray but with the whole conception of the series; the fact is that Artpearl has played a very important role in my CG learning process; her suggestions, constructive crits and incredible “eye” for details have always been a great support to every single step or direction I´ve decided to take in this field. More than that, alongside this journey we´ve become friends; and that´s one of the best things that could ever happened to me. / Photo/background/foreground images were blended with Photoshop; there´s also a bit of digital painting. / (CINEMA 4D is a commercial, cross-platform, high-end 3-D graphics application, produced by MAXON Computer, Germany.) / —-—-—-—-—-—-—— / Yemaja (Yemalla) is a mother goddess, originally of the Yoruba religion, who has become prominent in many Afro-American religions. / In (Cuban) Santeria, she is seen as the mother of all living things as well as the owner of all waters. / Her number is 7 (a tie into the 7 seas), her colors are blue and white (representing water). / She rules the sea, the Moon, dreams, deep secrets, ancient wisdom, ocean secrets, the collective unconscious, and the surface of the ocean, seas, and lakes. / In Africa she is known as Mama Watta, Mother of Waters. / There´s a lot of information regarding this african goddess in internet; here´s a link to Wikipedia: / Yemaya

  • A Coral Reef Story 2
    by Danilo Lejardi

    US$3.99–US$91.20

When the “Best of Blue” challenge was summoned, I inmediately thought of the ocean; the deep, blue ocean that surrounds my native and beloved small island. And the ocean reminded me of a close friend, who loves the sea, its coral reefs, and, coincidentally.. the color blue. / So, this image became a sort of representation of watercoloured memories and good feelings. / Thanks for stopping by.

  • I´ve been thinking for a long time on a tribute to this monumental song written by Cole Porter, which is also a signature song for Frank Sinatra. I´d have liked to present a more appropiate version, but this is what finally came up to my mind. / I know this is a worldwide wellknown hit song of all times; anyhow here´s the link to one of those remarkable Sinatra performances. / I´ve got you under my skin

  • Morning Coffee
    by Danilo Lejardi

    US$3.99–US$91.20

I´m a coffee addict and I´ve also became an addict to linaji writings. / But the point is that her Morning Coffee poem goes far beyond those two facts. / So this image was inspired by the words that follow: Morning Coffee Tantalizing what a rim on a cup of coffee feels like / Where your lips perhaps become mine. / Scales and outer edges folded inside my skin, / Where you left something / Precious like poison, / Pervasive and deadly, / Yet, / I survive and immune myself to the next / Visit, / Yours / Picking up this Kundalini Captive / A snake in sheep’s clothing, / Soft and gentle at first / Then you strike / And I am pierced in dead heat / In forever flesh / Teasing me over the edge that allows for / Everything to abide / You, my skin of the Soul Mate / Scratching my thoughts into declaring / My listless desire that stays and stays / Until the continuum of our Love is saited Linaji 2009

  • My Funny Valentine
    by Danilo Lejardi

    US$3.99–US$91.20

“My Funny Valentine” is a show tune from the 1937 Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart musical “Babes in Arms”. In the original play, a character named Billie Smith (played by Mitzi Green) sings the song to Valentine “Val” LaMar (played by Ray Heatherton). / In the song, Billie pokes fun at some of Valentine’s characteristics, but ultimately affirms that he makes her smile and that she doesn’t want him to change. / It is now considered a jazz standard, appearing on over 1300 albums performed by over 600 artists; also, it is considered part of the Great American Songbook. Lyrics. Behold the way our fine feathered friend, / His virtue doth parade / Thou knowest not, my dim-witted friend / The picture thou hast made / Thy vacant brow, and thy tousled hair / Conceal thy good intent / Thou noble upright truthful sincere, / And slightly dopey gent Youre my funny valentine, / Sweet comic valentine, / You make me smile with my heart. / Your looks are laughable, un-photographable, / Yet, youre my favorite work of art. Is your figure less than greek? / Is your mouth a little weak? / When you open it to speak, are you smart? / But, dont change a hair for me. / Not if you care for me. / Stay little valentine, stay! / Each day is valentines day

  • Most of you have heard this song. You know, Where Have All the Cowboys Gone is the name of a song by Paula Cole. / Basically, it´s about a woman who for all her life dreamed of being a cowboy’s wife. One day she does indeed marry one of these “cowboys”. But over the years she discovers her dream man doesn’t live up to her expectations, and finds herself an unhappy housewife, asking to the heavens where all the cowboys went. / Here I tried to put the song into another context, another culture; perhaps, closer to the universe that surrounds me everyday. Cause I think the essence of this song perfectly fits everywhere, all the time. And here are the lyrics: Where Have All The Cowboys Gone Oh you get me ready in your 56 chevy / Why dont we go sit down in the shade / Take shelter on my front porch / The dandy lion sun scorching, / Like a glass of cold lemonade / I will do laundry if you pay all the bills Chorus: Where is my john wayne / Where is my prairie son / Where is my happy ending / Where have all the cowboys gone Why dont you stay the evening / Kick back and watch the tv / And Ill fix a little something to eat / Oh I know your back hurts from working on the tractor / How do you take your coffee my sweet / I will raise the children if you pay all the bills Chorus I am wearing my new dress tonight / But you dont even notice me / Say our goodbyes (3 times) We finally sold the chevy / When we had another baby / And you took that job in tennessee / You made friends at the farm / And you joined them at the bar / Almost every single day of the week I will wash the dishes while you go have a beer / Where is my john wayne / Where is my prairie son / Where is my happy ending / Where have all the cowboys gone / Where is my marlboro man / Where is his shiny gun / Where is my lonely ranger / Where have all the cowboys gone / Yippee aw, yippee yea (3 times)
