Back before I took up watercolours and perhaps my lifedrawing course, I painted mainly fantasy and most of it very poor except for this one. But it’s lain unfinished for the last 3 years because at the time I felt unequal to the task of finishing it, but I have come to terms with acrylics now and this is the final result. It’s in acrylics and measures 18×14 inches and painted on canvas board.

One for the geeks :) This is a website where you get some great old music… Found the Napster logo and had a play. Works well on this yellow, and on the white. I might do a couple more variations on this theme… jL

I think this is the coolest door EVER. I saw it from a distance and after thinking a while i realised it was so much like “Silent Hill” (the game for PS and PS2). The little paper in it says “Closed because of Disease” while the other one says “Open”. Creepy uh? Well… I love creepy. Im a huge fan of psychological terror; Silent Hill, Poe, HP Lovecraft (The Call of Cthulhu). I love that chill in your spine when some cosmic horror is breathing behind you :P Well… This door reminded me of that. Racoon City, Silent Hill, etc.

My interpretation of a Lovecraft book cover. Pen and ink, scanned and then digital tablet.

original pencil sketch scanned into photoshop cs3 for painting and post production work. one of a series of concept pieces inspired and expanding upon the writings of H.P Lovecraft.

Acrylic & Ink on vinyl. “In his house at R’lyeh dead Cthulhu waits dreaming, yet He shall rise and His kingdom shall cover the Earth” I’m not sure why I added eyebrows to Cthulhu, I know squids don’t have facial hair, but he just didn’t seem evil enough without them. I would have painted the whole body, but it would have obscured the rest of the painting.

Fabulous creatures as described by H.P. Lovecraft in his story / “The dream quest of unknown Kadath.” / Original pencil sketch painted in Photoshop CS3.
