  • This lovely waterscape was photographed from the shore of Perch Hole, a part of the Lake Innes , just south of Port Macquarie , NSW, Australia, late on an autumn afternoon. Fuji S9600, hand held. I had set out to shoot just the waterscape until I heard the boat coming from my left so I pre-focussed and waited until the boat was between the two trees. Visit the Waterscapes & Waterfalls collection in my BubbleSite Gallery for more fresh water scenery. Enjoy! WATERSCAPES & WATERFALLS / (Click the links!) • This shot was taken from the Destin Harbor – Destin, FL. The sunset cruises were coming in for the evening. This is one of the sunset cruises that I caught coming back into the harbor. During post processing in Photoshop I added a larger than life moon via the Lunar Cell filter. It seemed like it added a mysterious beckoning element to the photo. Enjoy. / / Click on the buy/preview button to see the many RedBubble print options for this photo.

  • Port Adelaide, South Australia. One day in March we took our kids on one of the Dolphin cruises, it was a really hot day. We are in winter at the moment so this is a little inspiration for what we have to look forward to in a few months time. this one was straight out of the camera, no cropping, no super duper improvements.

  • Pulu Beras or “Prison Island”, Cocos Islands. Sure floats my boat….(for Gez!) Prison Island got it’s name from it’s small size and it’s inaccessibility during high tide unless on a boat. Last century, the tiny island was owned by Alexander Hare. He lived here in the only house on the island with something like 12 women and a heap of children…..what a life! • Sometimes you need the freedom to choose your own illusion when you are spending time in your own magic place. This reflection of the waves was taken from the railing of a cruise ship. Following a military deployment my wife and I took a cruise to the Caribbean. We went all out and got a room with a balcony and I found myself spending a lot of time with a Margarita in my hand enjoying the ocean colors and the beautiful scenery that passed by. It was a striking change from the Middle East. In fact, one can say that it was a refreshing change from the tan tones of the desert. The desert has its own beauty but I love the ocean. As I was leaning on the balcony enjoying the view I happened to gaze down and notice the beautiful reflection of the waves in the Plexiglas below the railing. The reflection was amazing. But I found that I had to really lean forward over the railing to get a shot that looked right without showing myself, the railing or something else undesirable in it. In fact, I learned from this shot to let some shots go if they are just too stupid to try to get. I learned to pay as much attention to my own safety as I do to getting the shot! I really don’t have any ambition to be on the 6 pm news…with a film at 11 talking about the stupid American who plummeted off of something while trying to take a beautiful photo.
