It’s extremely satisfying when as a photographer you capture an image like this. It’s that microsecond of crystallisation of all factors that make a great image (even if I say so myself). / This is a female Galah ( a native Australian Parrot) that is both numerous and widespread in this country. Large flocks of them frequent grain and cropland areas and they are even more common in some suburban areas with parks and gardens than they used to be.

!I could see the car approaching in the far distance and was desperate to have it in my shot, it seemed to be travelling fast and the Hot Air Balloon seemed to be travelling slow, as we were about to float across the road the car came ahead of us up the road. Featured on Red Bubble Home Page on Mothers day 2009 this is my mom… and that is you know who.. her great grand child :))))))))))))) on the cruise to Mexico.. the amazing thing is that this is one in a series of the sweetest looks and hugs between them.. we were entertained and were just awwwwwing.. it was so spontaneous and sweet. / and!! this is one of my faves. it makes it double extra special because it was the day of my moms birthday of 83 years in 2007.. which is why we went on a cruise . all of us sisters. were there. and she got to go to the place of her dream since childhood.. Captured this image aboard the Cruiseship “Valor”, during a 7 day Western Caribbean Cruise. Some of the ships’ interior was quite interesting and warranted a few photo sessions. This is a 15 second exposure of some empty barstools, shot from the floor with camera angled upwards. Image made with tripod mounted Nikon D300 and Nikkor 18-70mm lens. The image itself has been run through ReDynaMix for an HDR “feel”, then converted to B&W, then with several layers gradually punched through the layers to achieve the selective coloring on the barstools from the original color HDR image. / Please view in Large to see all of the detail ….

It was high time for a little Hot Rod action. The original shoot was at a local drive in on Route 66 in Springfield, MO. I pictured this old Ford dropping the hammer and flying down old Route 66 headed for Devil’s Elbow, MO. True…look it up :) In case you need a littleRockabilly while you view! Part of my Rod’s & Relics calendar, based on my photo shoot in Springfield, MO on Route 66. A ‘55 Chevy BelAire leaving the Blue Swallow on Route 66. / The Blue Swallow Motel was built in 1939 by W. A. Huggins. It features a unique, personal shell design on the exterior stucco. Garages, a signature of motor courts of the era, are another unique characteristic of this motel. According to Huggins’ son, Phares, it was sold at a loss because of economic conditions at the onset of WWII. With gas and tire rationing in effect, people weren’t traveling as much. / The best known proprietor of the Blue Swallow was Lillian Redman, who acquired it in 1958. She operated the motel for almost 40 years, facing numerous difficulties including the interstate bypass, which drastically reduced her customer base. Get Your Kicks
