Inspired by the religious art of my visit to Italy in December 2007, i was compelled to create the depiction of the spiritual battle that is happening in our world… every second of every day. Someone is in a battle manifested in countless forms. But there is life and with life there is always hope. ‘The Battle’ is symbolic of the journey and the challenges faced to reach freedom. After we have fought the good fight there will be victory and as we fall to our knees, we are drawn to the One… who has saved us. Take the messages as they come to you. The aim was to create a universal piece of art that speaks the language of the heart. This vector artwork is currently not for sale but if you are interested i’d love to hear from you.

Dingle peninsula is part of “The Ring of Kerry” one of Ireland’s greatest tourist attractions, The Great Blasket is the largest of a group of 6 Islands and is famous for it’s folklore and great story tellers, the biographies and autobiographies of some of it’s inhabitants were an integral part of our Irish language school studies. The islands were abandoned in 1953 with many of the young men emigrating to America. The shrine looks out on these islands as if to offer some kind of solice to the memory of times and people that are no more.

One of my favourites to date. No Christmas collection would be complete without the reason… / Probably will do a few more Christmas collection cards… this one is a Fractalius background I created with some beautiful leaves, and the cross is made up of copies of my red lily bloom, and there’s always a little help from the angels… ;-)

My Entry for the ‘Infinite Future Chaos’ competition. / / Kaos is the ancient Greek goddess that preceded all life in the universe. A primeval creator spirit she will rise up against the pressures of today and take back the power. In this piece she is represented as a crucified Venus or Mary figure. / / Symbolism used in this mainly centred around the formation of a mushroom cloud in the centre piece that is exploding over mundane suburbia. / / / / Meanwhile the evil REDBACK spider’s WORLD WIDE WEB is being spun, watched by the universe’s seers of prophesy and fate. / / The goddess will integrate with the media itself and become a hermaphroditic cyborg in mind to combat the demons that are being born of the internet and mass electronic circuitry… By doing this she will achieve telekinesis, parakinesis and hypnotic mind control by way she will wreak havoc on the evil ones spread love to the entire world and create an infinite plan for rejeuvination, re-invention and renewal… Alien circuitry is the next step… / / This piece contains 15 photos (all taken by me except for the circuit board which was one of the base images), 1 photoshop vector illustration of the crucified Venus, a lot of newspaper headlines which depressingly all came out of the one paper (courtesy of the Sunday Mail, Brisbane). / / Actual size is 41cm x 29cm.

Here I stand! Inspiration for this design came from doing a bible study on the topic of grace. This is a statement of where I stand before God, even though I don’t deserve this awesome gift. I bought myself this tee in ‘Asphalt’ colour. It’s now my favourite t-shirt!

Bible quote John 15 :13 “No one has greater love than this , to lay down one’s life for another”. This large cross markes the grave of a first responder who was killed by an impaired driver.This is my first attempt at this type of combination of adding text to my images. Hope you like it.

Have you ever wondered about those who nailed Jesus to the cross? My guess is they were ordinary men just doing the job they were hired to do, but something else tells me they were never the same after. The Sacred Blood spilled onto their hands and penetrated their souls, washing them clean from all stain of sin. The Sacred Gaze penetrated their hearts, not with condemnation but with love. And the Sacred Lips whispered, “Forgive them, Father; they don’t know what they’re doing.” I took this photo at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Houston, Texas, and when I took a good look at it, I realized Jesus seemed to be anything but the center of attention. Maybe he wanted me to consider his executioners and maybe he wanted to remind me, “It was all for them; it was all for you. They drove the nails, but I laid down my life willingly so that they, so that you could live.”

I took this close-up of Jesus on the cross which was in a very old cemetery and then when I saw these words on a church marquee, “Jesus built a bridge with two boards and three nails,” I added them to the photo. Something to really meditate about!
