  • THE SUBJECT: / This little candid scene was spotted in the crowd at the 2006 Australia Day celebrations. THE LOCATION: / Shot on the Town Green beside the Hastings River in Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia. THE MAKING of ‘Candid Hats in the Oz Day Crowd’: / A difficult photograph to make as I bobbed about trying to get a clear view through the milling crowd but definitely worth the effort. / Fuji S5500: High resolution jpg, Hand held. / Lightroom 1.1 & Photoshop CS3. UPDATE: / This fine B&W not only won the Monochrome Section of the 2007 Northern Zone NSW Camera Clubs Open Competition but was also named Top Shot for the whole show. / I am a very happy snappy chappy! UPDATE: / Since uploading the original to my portfolio I have received some very good critiques on this photograph from many sectors. However, when I set about implementing the suggestions, I discovered to my horror that my archival psd file was gone – kaput!. So the image you see now is a complete rework straight from my original high resolution jpg file. UPDATE: 21-08-08 / An unknown buyer with great taste has just bought a card. / A very big Aussie THANK YOU whoever you are. UPDATE: 09-10-08 / My candid hats have just won the Round 1 Black and White Photography Competition in The Wales Rich in Beauty Group Visit the Candid and B&W and Monochrome collections in my BubbleSite Gallery for more interesting people in interesting situations. • Colourwonderful! Mongkok is your one stop shop to anything from $AUD2 torchlights to $AUD5000 Canon EOS 1D Mk IIIs. It’s also your one stop destination to all Asian cuisines from the authentic Hong Kong-style Dim Sum right to Pizza Hut pizzas ($AUD25 each!) Hong Kong-style! I wished I took this shot from dead centre. And this was only half the street! I’d still think its impossible to take a shot from one end to the other though, even if you tried. Captured on 1 January 2008, Mongkok, Kowloon. Hong Kong, China.

  • Inspired by a photo in the newspaper – women wearing headscarves, gathered together at a family event.

  • Captured today 23.11.08 at my dear friends. Ellie is hand feeding 19 of these little darlings a mixture of Cockatiels (as pictured here) and Blue Princess parrots. What a crowd scene! Hope you like it and thank you for looking.

  • These are five of my ferrets trying to all fit in one hanging sleep sack and they did it. They are all tiny little girls, clockwise from top is Lillie, then Tosca, not sure if that is Hannah or my little Emma that I lost (white ferret), then there’s Chloe and Miley is in the middle. This sleep sack is made to comfortably hold 1-2 ferrets, but they sometimes pile in all together, sometimes in the hammocks they all just pile on. This photo was taken at least a year ago, but they still do this all the time. There are plenty of sleep sacks, hammocks, round beds, etc., to sleep in, they just want the same one. All five of these ferrets are rescues from Texas Ferret Lovers Rescue! I am submitting this one for the “Too Much” challenge in the Mood & Ambience group.

  • Don’t you think that it is a bit… ... crowded?

  • This drawing is about faces in a crowd…stopped at an intersection perhaps, waiting to cross the road. She glances over her shoulder at you. A momentary glimpse of recognition passes between two strangers.A connection felt….was it just imagination, or…..? The lights have changed. Everyone’s moving again. The bubble is broken…..she means nothing to you or you to her. Life goes on. currently listening to: kim carnes – mistaken identity medium: charcoal and pastel on 185gsm Arches paper size: 42cm x 59.4cm (A2) click here to see my current eBay listings

  • Imagine being born again. Only this time your mother is the earth and you come fully equipped with memories, knowledge and a belief system. What raw emotions are evoked when the first thing you are confronted with is an environment completely foreign to what you were expecting? / Fear, confusion, doubt and loneliness. / Or because of the new environment one may lose their inhibitions, feel joy or perhaps discover inner strength and courage. Maybe the nine images are a true metaphorical reflection of the artists soul? / His background and love for the stage and theatre. / His longing to find true love and a wanting audience. / The ongoing battle of time and money between industry and creative / fulfilment. Born from this earth, the series, everyone deserves a new beginning, a chance to start over. / / Part of a series that will be exhibited (and on sale – signed & limited to an edition of 2) during Art Melbourne April 09 at The Royal Exhibition Buildings in Melbourne. / / I cannot thank enough the woman with a glowy soul & timeless beauty… JessicaTremp whose work as an artist and model is truely inspiring! / / Location – Astor Theatre – This is where the next Melbourne & Victoria Group our having their next Meet Up!
