This is a unique in situ image of a very defensive northern pacific rattlesnake. I think the whole image works together to tell a story in this one.
This Arizona Black Tail Rattlesnake is the Mountain phase. Its high yellows and deep black contrast, are the classic example of why this was a favorite skin amongst early American ranchers and cowboys.
