Captured digitally using a Sony Alpha 100 at the Southern Cross Station in Melbourne.. This image was the winner of the “best alternative medium” at the ” Artbeat 2006 – Hung Art Competition and Exhibition ” August 2006. Also the winner of “Peoples Choice Award” at The Digital/Hardcopy exhibition at The Gasworks Gallery in Albert Park October 2006. / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / This image will be on display and for sale at the Strathcona Art show 7th – 9th September 2007 at Tay Creggan in Hawthorn. / The image will be presented framed, matted & signed. This image was shot using 35 mm colour transparency film then chemically cross processed (e6 to c41), doing this can give you lovely green hues. The original analogue photograph was then scanned and only the cubed effect was achieved using photoshop. Some cubes were also slightly desaturated with photoshop too.

This is my version of a sign of the times. How we put our faith and hope into false symbols. An enlightened awakening of our narcissistic quest for personal gratification. Kirkby Lonsdale is a small town in Cumbria, England, on the River Lune. It is situated thirteen miles (21 km) south-east from Kendal along the A65. / The South Lakeland town is noted for the Devil’s Bridge over the River Lune, dating from around 1370 and constructed of well masoned fine gritstone. It consists of three spans, the western two measuring 17 m (54 ft 8 in) each and the eastern one 8.8 m (29 ft). The piers are hexagonal, measuring 18 m (60 ft) round. Yesterday was, quite simply, a rotten day in many ways, however I did have a very short time with the lovely Arnavaz, who came to my studio to be photographed by a couple of friends. They were still at it by the time I arrived home from work, so I grabbed the first camera that I could find quickly, and started shooting. Turns out it was the Canon 5D, and the lens on it was the Lensbaby composer at f/4. This was my first go with the lens, apart from a couple of shots in class, and I’m VERY impressed!!!
