The Southern Cross can still be seen in the Northern Hemisphere if you keep your eyes open. I was amazed at the rich colour at a macro level in the otherwise fairly monotone mountains of the Himalaya. The Southern Cross is probably my favourite symbol – a banner of nations, a focal point for the spirit.
