This photo of a silhouetted cross against a beautiful sunset was taken in Windsor, Nova Scotia, Canada right across the street from my house. My then girlfriend, now wife pointed out the cross, so I got down to ground level and took the shot. Waking up early isn’t my forté, but this magical sunrise pulled me out of bed and down to the river. The morning mists were rolling down and the water was dead calm, as if not wanting to disturb the day. The photo is cross-processed medium format velvia and retains some imperfections.

A day of firsts for me …... I took my first wedding photos this afternoon and I also tried cross processing for the first time. This is the result…..Ta daaaa … / and yes, I remembered to take off the IR filter…LOL

HERES THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO! okay, so I’m not really a religious person, at all. But I do work at a christian preschool so one day I passed these crosses by a church and the sun was behind me and I thought it would be a cool photo to take for my boss :) okay…so here’s the creepy part. I pulled this picture up today (6 months later) and decided to photoshop it and give it to my boss. Well….I only gave it a little more yellow for the sunset….I didn’t put the “EYE” in the top right hand corner of my photo! creepy eh? What you think?

Taken at a station of the Montreal subway. There were these signs all over the city with different sayings like “bored in a chemistry class” and “taking the wrong subway line”. This one says “alone on a Saturday night” and I thought that the empty chairs right beside it drove the point home. Features / - Street Sign in August 2008 / - Experimental Photography in November 2008 Cross processed using an adjustment layer and adjusting the curves settings.
