This is a combination of 2 pictures I took in the Yukon Territory on solstice day, June 21st… it was about 3 am when I took the mountains and the fog. The Raven was flying by in a clear blue sky later on that day.
Night photography is something I really enjoy… From the silent raindrops to the secret night walks… all is magic.
Spring 2006, Yukon Territory Canada.
Cold fall morning in the Yukon. As much as the sun looks warm, as cold as this morning was. Nature is so beautiful…
Fall time on the Yukon and British-Columbia border (Canada). It is so peaceful to be there… Alone with the magestic mountains…
December 21st, Winter Solstice… Shortest day of the year. This day, the sun raises for only a few moments. Daylight is a rare thing in Canada’s great white north… Therefore, it makes it even more interesting to take photographs of the “sleepy sun”...
Great North’s Summer sky. This was the last sun-ray to be seen that night. the whole sky was colored, as if fire was to invade it. I haven’t in any ways, changed or modified these colors. It is as it has been seen by my eye.
A stitching of a few picture of one of those hot summer nights. Little Atlin Lake, very northern B-C, Canada
One of my piece of art. This is a snow carving that I made myself in February 2006. It was at the Yukon Sourdough Rendez-vous. She was about 7 feet high to give you an idea. / / It took me 26 hours of consecutive work (no sleep) with a few breaks along the way to warm my toes up… (it was pretty near -40 degrees Celscius below that night. But I was dressed pretty well.) I called her Into The Light because I finished sculpting her when the sun came and shined on her from above the building that was standing in front of her. It was 12(noon) at the time.. I had started to carve her the day before at 10 am. She has her hands open to the sky, for she is as ready to give herself, as ready to receive from the creator.
This is one of many faces Yukon Skies take. The whole sky was as red as red can be. It was beautiful… There are the original colors… no modifications made here.
This tipi was made 10 years ago. It is still standing today. This is how some Native people of North America use to shelter themselves… I just love the traditional way… I find it beautiful.
This was at the Moosehide gathering (Powwow) 2006, Dawson City, Yukon. They are great at what they do… Humor is one of their most important value to carry on the world towards healing… I just love them.
This is another view from my window when I lived in the Yukon Territory, Canada. In summer time, there are lots of day light, long after the sun has set. Nature is queen there. I jsut love it.
Dawson City, Yukon, Canada. / Taken at midnight on June 21-22 (solstice day-night)
This is in very northern British-Columbia… it is just before entering the Yukon Territory. / ISO 400, Shutter Speed 1/500 Sec, F9.0, Focal Length 300.0 mm / Enjoy… :)
This is Atlin Lake, British-Columbia, Canada. And it is the “Tarahne Boat”. In order to get there, one has to first get all the way up in the Yukon Territory, for the only road that leads there has to be taken through the Yukon. ISO 200, F22, Shutter Speed 1/200 Sec, Focal Length 50.0 mm
ISO 400, F13, Shutter Speed 1/320 Sec, Focal Length 31.0 mm This is the S.S. Klondike, paddle wheeler that was used about 100 years ago during the gold rush in the Yukon… It is now a touristic attraction, where one can learn about it’s history.
This is an “Orton” version of Free colors… hope you enjoy… :)
This was a night of fun… experimenting with my camera… there are no Photoshop works here either… it is as is… :) Enjoy… :)
Shutter Speed 1.6 Sec, ISO 800, F8.0
