The Red Scarf
I thought this single fractal design with Apophysis resembled a hacky sack ball with its crochet like texture.
My freeform handbags are composed of small knit & crochet “scrumbles” which are individually joined. I then start work on the embellishments. This can mean knit/crochet flowers, corkscrews and edgings, & often the addition of beads, buttons or other baubles. Finally the bag is ready for the lining to be hand stitched into place & the handles to be attached. Each bag is individual in design & the end result of many hours work. Original bag “Seaweed” has been sold. Similar handbags are available in my etsy shop

Part of my Contemporary Christmas collection. The images are accompanied with some ideas for decorating and celebrating Christmas. I hope you enjoy it! Decorating In Detail – If you want a more nostalgic but subtle idea for reusing your old baubles, try wrapping them in old crochet. If you don’t have any of your own, look for them in garage sales, markets or Opportunity Shops like St. Vincent De Paul or the Salvation Army Shop (or their equivalent in your part of the globe). I found some doilies, table napkins and handkerchiefs that were fully crocheted or had edges and corners in crochet at our local Vinnie’s. / Wrap your bauble in a neutral coloured textile like calico or old cotton shirts. It should be thick enough that it muffles the colour of the bauble underneath and plain so it doesn’t visually compete with the crochet. I used a neutral, unbleached calico, but you can also use very dark colours to make the details of the crochet pop-out. Don’t forget not to cover the top end of the bauble, so you can still hang it. Apply white glue to your bauble, wrap it in the base cloth and let it dry. / Then it’s only a matter of positioning your crochet on the bauble, gathering the ends and securing the top with a length of ribbon. / To add more glitter to the bauble, I threaded a plastic bead through both the ends of the loop and tied it off. It serves as a fastener when you attach it to the tree leaves/branches.
Happy colors and lights for the December Holiday that we can no longer call “Christmas”. . . in civic displays and school, at least. Disgusting laws, to me. / For a Challenge in A KALEIDOSCOPIC KRAZE. / For 50 THINGS: Counting rings and lights and baubles, it must count up to at least 50. Don’t you think??? Anyone may make this up as a crochet project if you pass the instructions on for free, and to me! Wouldn’t it make great placemats?
This is what I like to do when I’m just trying to relax. It goes fast and I love the challenge of a new pattern! I also think this would make a great card for a new arrival.
