This Robin landed in a tree near my back deck, mostly I just see them on the ground. I was happy to get this photo.
..usually nocturnal, this mother and baby possum were setting the cockatoos off screeching one afternoon in the gum trees…I love catching a glimpse of the local nocturnal wildlife (which i usually only hear go bump in the night!!) The Comma (Nymphalis c-album) is a species of butterfly, common in the United Kingdom and with a distribution across Europe and temperate Asia to Japan and south to Morocco. Similar species are found in the United States and Canada. It has a white marking on its underwings resembling a comma. My granddaughter, Lilly, was wondering if she could take this rescued opossum baby back to California with her. I had to tube feed it and its siblings, so she left it with me in NC. It was released in the wild.
