I’m trying to connect with writers willing to exchange helpful ideas, even be brutal in a constructive and friendly way for the purpose of becoming better writers. I really want to be a better writer! Some folks (like me Ç;-) crave constructive feedback. Many folks (even writers asking for criticism) become defensive and sometimes even feel hurt by constructive feedback. Finding folks with the self confidence to exchange real ideas and not just praise is a delicate endeavor— so I decided to just throw it out there. Like everyone, I love it when someone tells me my stuff is good, but I actually like it even better when someone tells me something I can learn from. And no law says that a suggestion given is always right or must be heeded— after all, writing is a very personal business. However, I believe etiquette would dictate that we listen graciously and with appreciation to anyone willing to help— and definitely say thank you!
