A bell on the old church of the former leper colony on the island of Spinalonga, Crete, Greece. / This island was a leper colony until 1957 when the last resident left.
This was taken in Hania in Western Crete. Every evening these 4 ya yas would sit in the middle of the intersection to eat grapes, catch some breeze and, of course, gossip.

AN IDEAL GREEK POSTCARD SHOT!
This is from last year’s trip to Greece. This photo is from Chania, Crete. I was becoming a holiday snapper so I decided to put myself a project to keep me thinking in a creative way. The project had a simple enough title. “Bicycles”. After leaving Greece I still try to capture a good bike shot, but keeping the bikes as a small part of the compisition but still the point of interest.

Featured in European Everyday Life – March 26th, 2009 Photographed on the way out of Heraklion harbour on the ferry from Crete to Santorini. It was not a very good quality as I shot it through the window so I played a little bit with flood filter to improve the look of the sea. I don’t know if it’s a success but it’s definitely better from what it was before.

Location: Crete Senesi, Tuscany, Italy The Crete Senesi was one of my favorite area to drive by in Tuscany. Crete Senesi are literally ‘Siennese clays’ and the distinctive grey colouration of the soil gives the landscape an appearance often described as lunar. This characteristic clay, known as mattaione, represents the sediments of the Pliocene sea which covered the area between 2.5 and 4.5 million years ago. In the nearby is also the semi-arid area known as Accona Desert.
