This room at no. 85 Bank St, Port Fairy had recently been abandoned, evidenced by a half-drunk bottle of Pure Blonde sitting on the fireplace. It told an unfinished story of neglect and impoverishment, not uncommon in Australian rural towns.

l was amazed at the roots of this tree as they intertwined themselves around all the other plants in the garden, not many plants seem to take on a life of their own but this one certainly did!

This calender is a showcase of the first twelve works in my “Accretions” series. Each of these works was drawn w/ ballpoint pen and painted in Photoshop CS3. There was no planning, rough drafts, or erasing for these pieces. Each drawing evolved spontaneously as new forms, feelings, words and ideas crept into my consciousness while I was working. These truly are accretions of my thoughts, but hopefully you can enjoy them too.
