This little vine is growing in our yard, heading ever so surely towards the sunlight. Its progression has us all amazed, so fragile but so determined. For the technically curious shooting info as follows. / Canon 1D mk2 with lensbaby, 1300/ second @f2, iso 100.

“BROWN CREEPER” The Brown Creeper is a small song bird and one that is well-camouflaged in the woodlands where it thrives. It can be seen in coniferous and mixed coniferous-deciduous forests. It creeps along tree trunks, spiraling upward, picking invertebrates from the bark with its long curved and pointed bill. It consumes insects, spiders, and other invertebrates. It will also consume small quantities of seeds. It has a long thin down curved bill and a long tail that it uses a prop as it creeps up and around tree trunks. The Brown Creeper’s song is a musical phrase of four to nine high clear notes, varying by region and from individual to individual. Call a very high-pitched “seee.” Size: 12-14 cm (5-6 in) / Wingspan: 17-20 cm (7-8 in) / Weight: 5-10 g (0.18-0.35 ounces) / Sexes look alike, but male slightly larger and with slightly longer bill. Immature birds are similar to the adult, but with light spotting on underparts and duller upper parts. Summer Range Breeds in the forests of the northeastern United States and eastern Canada, from northern Virginia to Newfoundland, and westward across much of central Canada. Also breeds throughout the mountains and coastal regions of the United States and Canada, from southern Alaska to Mexico and Central America. Winter Range Found year-round in most of its breeding range, except a belt of boreal forest across Canada, which it occupies only during summer. Winters throughout the United States, including regions where it is absent in summer.

Yes, this is not a copy-and-paste job! / This virgina creeper-clad cottage is in the Cotswolds, at Bourton on Water. The blue bath had no water in it, by the way! /
Close-up shot of beautiful pink bougainvillea blooms against a black background
Another creeper shot.
The flower of this creeper flowers mainly in winter and each flower only lasts about a day. This is also called a trumpet flower.
The colours in this photo caught my eye as we visited Giverny, and luckily the rain had stopped when we returned to the bus so I was able to capture this image. I just love it, the colours are so deep.
