A long hike early one morning at Raven Run Nature Sanctuary yielded this beatiful sunlit shot.
Many trials I overcame / There I remained just the same / Through drought, wind, rain, and hail / I hung there and did not fail The suns face, less I did see / As I hung there on the tree / My beauty then I did show / But struggled not to let go A strong north wind came that day / Force so great I could not stay / On a rock I hang on still / Though the air is starting to chill I hang on for you to see / This is what matters to me / If to you, joy I did bring / It will cause my heart to sing Image made on Porters Creek,Greenbrier section of the Great Smoky Mountain NP ©2008 Gary L. Afternoon undulating fog rising off of the swollen Sugar Creek in Milford, Illinois. The fog seemed to perform a ballet of sorts as it rose and fell and rolled. It seemed to have a life of it’s own. The creek was far out of its banks into the unplanted corn fieldsafter inundating early Spring rains and significant changes in temperature. The geese enjoyed the flood waters. Taken with a Nikon D60. Original in color. Featured in the Fabulous Prairies group 6/2009. Thank you!
