  • One day a friend of mine asked me if I could design a logo for their new company, which I did. She also knew my watercolours and my style so she asked me if I could translate the new logo into a watercolour painting. In other words, this is my first commissioned work. The original is sold in other words, she was very enthusiastic about the result, but I’d like to share this work with the rest of you and make it available as cards, prints, etc. I hope you enjoy it. / Cheers detail at 100% / more work / the card /

  • My Saturday hike took mye up little Glade Creek behind a friend’s home to this lovely little waterfall tucked in under an outcropping and a leaning tree. So peaceful with the blessing of real solitude for reflecting on all that is beautiful around me.

  • Almost fall at Poyners Creek, North Carolina….I wished I was a little earlier to catch more of the fog. Sorry Chris!..LOL My home internet has been down 5 days! I have a lot of great works to view. I have not forgot you all.

  • The smooth ethereal effect of my camera’s long exposure on a horizontal view of the Marble Fork of the Kaweah River in Sequoia National Park. For the record, I had slipped and fallen into this raging river perhaps 10 minutes previously. After removing soaked clothes and regaining my composure and thanking God I didn’t drown, I set up my camera and tripod and shot this upstream image. Camera: 5D, polarizing lens on a Canon 24-70mm lens, 5 sec, exposure, ISO speed 50, focal length 51.0, White Balance-Shade, and a few adjustments in Photoshop.

  • A quiet creek reflects the sky and trees on this winter day at Derby Reach Park. Nikon D90 / 16-85 mm Nikkor lens

  • Nikon D60 / Focal length 20mm, F13 / 1/60s

  • It is a quiet autumn day. This creek is low on water and the current is not real swift. Further down it empties into the Rogue River and there the current is swift and very strong. A canoe has broken away from it’s mooring and is starting to drift down stream. The couple that were canoeing are strolling in the park and don’t realize that anything is amiss. Perhaps this little canoe will end up in another world of swift currents, rocks and buried trees. Yes, it is a brave soul that will save this little canoe now! / A composite of 2 images, autumn background and canoe. Taken at Elk Creek Park, Oregon

  • This is a shot of the lagoon at Greenpatch, Booderee National Park, Jervis Bay. I very rarely do shots during the day but this is one of those landscapes where strong light worked an advantage in bringing out the colours. The colour of the lagoon is from the tannin that leaches into the water from all the native tea tree bushes that line the creek as it empties into it. Combine that with shallow water and fine light sand and it really brings out the colour. Canon 30D / Tv: 1/125 / Av: f/8 / ISO: 100 / FL: 16mm

  • Broughton Creek, Berry NSW. Its a big creek or a small river – take your pick :) Berry is a small rural town on the NSW south coast popular with many seeking a seachange.

  • Travertine Creek at the Chickasaw National Recreational Area in Sulphur,Oklahoma. One of my favorite places to visit and enjoy nature. It is very nice in fall, too. • Water quenches thirst. Experiencing nature’s pure beauty refreshes the core inner being… the soul! The first signs of autumn are just beginning to peek through here. The air is becoming cooler every day and the subtle scent of fall is getting more evident in the woods. The park rangers do their very best to keep this great place as pure and unspoiled as possible, and so should we! One simple rule: If you carry anything into the woods, be sure you also carry it back out with you! Leave the forests and streams EXACTLY as you found them! Ricketts Glen is a Pennsylvania State Park, located in the north eastern region of the Keystone State. The nearest community to the park is Red Rock, situated at the junction state routes RT-118 and RT-487. A Canon EOS 10D DSLR body, fitted with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L Zoom lens was used. The lens was set to its widest focal length of 17mm. The camera’s shutter speed was 2 seconds at f/11. The camera’s ISO was set to 100. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a remote shutter release cable. Your comments are always welcome!
