I am still trying desperately to learn my way around here and thank goodness for some amazing helpers like coppertrees & Alison Pearce (thanks so much) – then low and behold, I am uploading work and I see on the feed duplicate acceptances from “All that is Nature” group. I think it is a glitch and begain uploading more work…another duplicate acceptance??? / Putting on my glasses to read closer and ‘FEATURED’ in the group – for two photographs… / Mourning Doves / / AND… / Paired Illusions / My poor husband thought I was having a heart attack when I started screaming with excitement! Thank you so much Garret and John, this means so much to me!!!! Words do not suffice ;)
Messengers of the sky were a prominent sight for my husband and I’s “date day”, that we plan every Wednesday (so I don’t work 24/7). We explored some local back roads finding photo treasures everywhere, I thought I’d begin the uploads with the clearest message from this beautiful hawk. / /
This baby was one of the treasures of ‘date day’, I felt like Dr. Doolittle when I approached the fenceline, they all came to speak and hum to me… / / /
More messages from the sky… / / /
Feel the freedom found in Oneness, connect with Spirit and let it soar… A resident of our home, Wind River Ranch (shot from out of a window. / /
There are times when I am overwhelmed by the disconnection to our brethren of creatures…
As a wildlife rehabilitator, my feelings towards the complacency and cruelty to animals astounds me and gets my passion fired up to a dull roar…
As I honor the changes in progress / and transmute the poisons of my past / I am visited by the master, who poses / to remind me to stay on my path / Shed that old victims’ skin and walk / forward with light and life-force…
My favorite subject in photography and the hardest to capture, aside from hummingbirds. / Hanging out on a limb, this dragonfly is AS IS, other than sizing. / /
Medicine of Lynx with your extraordinary vision, help me to overcome obstacles and penetrate secrets, so well hidden so that I may be vigilant in my quest to be heard, as a voice for your brethren wildlife… This shot was taken in California, at the “Living Desert”, a rehabilitation facility in Palm Desert, while I was updating training requirements. He was someone’s pet discarded/imprinted and unable to be released back into the wild. / /

Another surprising day… / / Howling for the Pack / FEATURED in Spirit of the Native American group…thanks so much to the two Dawn’s for this honor and for continuing to give a voice for our endangered wolves!
This little Pacific Tree Frog darn near had a heart attack jumping onto my dogs’ back then onto this lily fromm, while we were watching dragonflies on the pond. Fortunately he had a sense of humor, as he gathered his bearings after this shot and let me photograph him more… Hang in long enough / /
After much work going through 400 photographs, taken last Friday at the NW Trek wildlife park, I was still having difficulty on which animal to begin with… / Deciding on alphabetical, I will begin with this little badger whom was quite the photogenic model, appropriately timed towards feeding. / BADGER is the totem for the ‘medicine’ of bold self-expression and reliance, it’s coloring and markings are symbolic as the keeper of much light and knowledge of other animals and the Earth. It is a very muscular and powerful animal in the weasel family with exceedingly strong jaws and claws for digging into the Earth or “earths”, where they live in complex burrows underground. It is a carnivorous animal that is active both day and night and are very solitary creatures, being very comfortable within themselves and very self-reliant by 4-6 months old. It is also one of the boldest and most ferocious, as it never surrenders when confronted. It’s powerful digging gives understanding of things beneath the surface of the earth and people – this includes the medicines of roots, minerals, plants and herbs and there are many stories that tie these animals to the lore of earth spirits and gnomes, besides healers who are aggressive with their technique but highly effective. Many Native American medicine women were powerful healers invoking the power of Badger for the healing of children. Badger medicine can teach you to fight for your rights and spiritual ideas. When faced with a crisis, don’t panic but act, even get angry, in a creative, productive way. Cunning badger of the forest, / Guide me to wisdom, truth and light. / All injustices against me, / Wipe clean the slate and set them right. (DJ Conway) From my favorite animated story “Once upon a Forest”, the Badger’s voice is Michael Crawford singing Please Wake Up
Been in and out all day photographing these beauties, there were two of them fishing the river today, the other photo will follow. This is the female, she is much larger than the male bald eagle. As is photo, other than re-sizing ;) On the wings of the Eagle
here is the male, smaller than previous shots’ female – they were both here all day fishing, although I didn’t capture them with a catch. Photo is as is, except for resizing ;) Shot at our home at Wind River Ranch, Naches, Washington – a free bird of prey! Hopi Eagle Dance
Snakes are reptiles, cold-blooded and requiring heat to bring them to an active stage. They are found around the world, except for the colder regions. There are about 2,500 species of the suborder Serpentes or Ophidia. About 10%, or 250 species are poisonous, but only half this number have sufficient venom, sharp enough fangs, or are large enough to threaten humans. They have flexible backbones, loosely connected jaws, and no legs or moveable eyelids. / Snakes or serpents were very early symbols of the Great Mother Goddesses, having dual spiritual meanings, even when shown singular: life and death, solar and lunar, good and evil, healing and poison. Because it sheds its skin, this creature became a symbol of reincarnation and immortality. The snake was considered to be the embodiment of all potentials of a physical, material and spiritual nature. This image was began in Apophysis and edited in Photoshop7. Serpentine Fire
This is an as is shot from my NWTrek adventure last month. The bobcat is sometimes called the wildcat, it has a short bobbed tail from which it gets its name. It also has tufts of hair on its ears and sideburns and often confused with the lynx, which is usually grayer and always larger. It is a solitary animal, and those with it as a totem usually share the same situation. / They are the medicine of secrets and silence, an endangered species once found roaming all over the US. It makes his home under rocky ledges and in piles of rocks. Although not very fast, it can leap up to eight feet, its primary food source is rabbits and woodchucks. It can see very well in the dark, and its hearing is acute. If a bobcat has shown itself you should ask yourself these questions… / Are you being too solitary? / Do you need to look for a new learning opportunity? / Are you or those around you being indiscreet? / Are you not trusting your inner senses? / Are you allowing others’ outside appearances to sway you? Whenever bobcat is around, it will teach you that there is true power and strength through silence. SECRETS
