  • I spotted this Graffiti Monster on the side of the road while cruising the streets of San Fransisco. He seemed to be begging me to photograph him…so I did. My partner calls him “Handy” because of his one hand, so the name just sort of stuck. I thought I would see how he looks on a t-shirt, and it came out pretty cool! / CREATION INFORMATION Medium: Travel/Urban/Digital Photography, T-Shirt Design. Technique: Vector selection from original photograph. Tools: Digital Camera, Photoshop CS3. Shooting Location: the streets of San Fransisco, CA.

  • Wild deer in Yosemite National Park – USA I spent ages with a group of these deer. Walked slowly to approach, after approx 15 mins i was surrounded by them, couldn’t shoot as they were too close, one just 10cm away, so we just hung out together until the cold drove me inside. Was a beautiful experience. They have the most gorgeous eyes :)) I loved every minute in Yosemite. • Part of the “Caverns Series” Copyrighted A Living Rainbow 2007 There are 60 photos in this series. Three photographers exploring the Southern Missouri Caves, 2-2007 to 4- 2007, took the photos in this series. I named this picture Creature because this shot looks like something that belongs in a late night horror show. If you get too close it might just eat you. You have to admitt it is beautiful is a creepy sort of way. A portion of all of A Living Rainbows, Studios profits will be donated to charities that protect the environment, wild life and help provide human resources.

  • “Australian Birdlife – Galah” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © The Galah (cacatua roseicapilla) is about 36 cm and can / be found in most parts of Australia especially in / agricultural and tree scattered grassland areas. I found / this one at Sussex Inlet, NSW. They usually travel in large / noisy flocks and nest in chewed out hollows in eucalypt / trees. They are ‘acrobatic clowns’, hanging upside down / from perches and screeching loudly and flapping their / wings while playing around with their fellow galahs. To / be called a ‘galah’ in Australia could insinuate that you’re / a bit of an idiot or fool. ;) Galah is part of my / 2010 Calender – Australian Birdlife /

  • “Australian Birdlife – Silver Gull” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © The Silver Gull is a common sight at virtually any watered / habitat throughout Australia and is rarely seen far from / land. Birds flock in high numbers around fishing boats / as these leave or return to the coast, but seldom venture / far out to sea. I found this silver gull on the wharf at / Darling Harbour, Sydney. As with many other gull species, / the Silver Gull has become a successful scavenger, / readily pestering humans for handouts of scraps, pilfering / from unattended food containers or searching for human / refuse at tips. Silver Gull is part of my / 2010 Calender – Australian Birdlife /

  • The Penguin Parade is located on Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia, only 140 kilometres south-east of Melbourne. It is part of Phillip Island Nature Park. The area is a reserve designed to protect and promote awareness of Little Penguins (previously called Fairy Penguins). The first night I was on Phillip Island I went to the Penguin Parade. Each night at sunset, the world’s smallest penguins, the Little Penguins, emerge from the sea and waddle ashore to their sand dune burrows with bellies full of the days catch. I was amazed at how far they travel from their burrows. The elevated boardwalks and viewing stands allow you to enjoy all the ‘penguin action’ without disturbing them or their burrow homes. / I stayed on the platform and watched them for two hours, getting soaked in rain storms and freezing winds…........was worth it !!! And yes it was Summer LOL / / BTW you are not permitted to take any photographic equipment into the boardwalk/ platform area. This shot however was taken at The Nobbies area on the side of a cliff. The penguins are a bluish colour and are so adorable, was hard to leave. / Jan 08

  • Sexual reproduction: “Most barnacles are hermaphroditic, although a few species are gonochoric or androdioecious. Typically, recently molted hermaphroditic individuals are receptive as females. Self-fertilization, although theoretically possible, has been experimentally shown to be rare in barnacles.” -Wikipedia as is (cropped)

  • “Australian Birdlife – Little Penguin” / Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © Little Penguins (Eudyptula minor) are approximately 35cm / and live in the southern waters of Australia. • A little experiment with editing the curves and contrast a little in PS CS4 :) This was going to be my first semi-successful attempt in making a vintage looking photo, but just as I finished, I realised how modern the binoculars look, which kind of ruined it for me. However, they are now a friendly, time travelling alien that this little girl is saying hello to :) I hope they become friends.
