Pair of cuttlefish. Taken on a night dive at Port Stephens, NSW, Australia. Cuttlefish change colour/pattern to communicate, camoflauge themselves and intimidate predators. These two are using two different patterns.

These Chunkies have been very therapeutic to create over the holidays, whilst taking a break from red bubble and having my family around. I have many more to come, and although I won’t be on RB as much, I hope to also be doing some serious painting this year…so i look forward 2009 with much anticipation …

In Honor of my Father who never got to dive deep beneath the ocean but had worked for the company that built parts for the Alvin .. he once told me that he did all the accounting for the parts (big smile) ... around the same time he went back to school to become a computer programmer. I was introduced to flowcharts and binary and machine language .. it was so exciting.. although I have no fondness for Fortran and Cobol LOL … the computer that my father worked on filled a large room! sadly he died before computers became a household necessity .. I know if he had he would have shared the same passion that I also have for the electronic beasties (grin) ..... thanks dad for turning me onto computers! (big smile) ps. He was also an artist (big smile) .... I’m also very proud of this work. It is only the 2nd image I rendered in XenoDream (big smile) 3D work done in XenoDream with post work in Gimp.
