  • An assignment for my illustration class: illustrate a poem. / I didn’t include the poem here cause it’s not mine, but you can see the drawing with poem (in Dutch) right here: link / The description includes a rough translation of the poem. Image done with watercolours and coloured pencils. =3

  • Where do I start? This one came from the motivation to exemplify a child’s exploratory mind. In reality, the little boy in this painting could be sitting on a small block of wood in the center of a mud puddle in his backyard, but this is what he would see. As adults, when do we lose this creativity? When do we cast aside the backyard adventures of playing cards with mermen while an octopus-like creature seeks to take down our ship? Reality is necessary, but not as a direct replacement for the imagination. Original is 16”x12” acrylic on canvas. Original available. bryandrinkscoffee.com

  • I remember as a kid I loved to secretly read at night, even though I was supposed to be sleeping. And as we all know, children have a very big imagination… =) A pretty simple drawing; I hope the background texture shows up, because if your monitor is set darker than mine, you might not see it at all. Did this drawing in Illustrator and Photoshop. Hope you like it! =D Also turned this into a t-shirt design.

  • Be careful where you swim… Painted in Photoshop.

  • Sea Creature or alien? on holiday or rampage? only you can decide

  • I am the biggest BIGFOOT fan, so it was about time I did a tee featuring this badass cryptozoological creature!!! Bigfoot, sasquatch, yeti, skunk ape, etc. He goes by many names all around the world. But there is no mistaking that he is one bad mofo. This silhouette design was done in conjunction with A T-Shirt Revolution’s Inspired by Silhouettes Challenge. It was between two images and everyone seemed to like this image better. VOTE SASSY-QUATCH!!!! If you are a t-shirt designer, join the revolution: / CREATION INFORMATION Medium: Vector Art, T-Shirt Design. Technique: Vector Art based on stock image. Tools: Photoshop CS3, and my brain. Stock used: Pie Grande Note: The stock used for this image was inspirational in the re-creation of this design. This design was re-done entirely of vector points to re-create a higher resolution and a crisper look. None of the original stock remains in this version.

  • Original is 4”x6” acrylic on panel. I painted five of these monster portraits as part of my solo exhibit, “Proof of Faith” at Art Whino in Washington DC. Each has some item being suspended over his head, and the item is what helped define each title.

  • 8”x10” acrylic on wood panel – please see www.artwhino.com to purchase the original. Just a fun piece about being a kid with a monster for your best friend, looking forward to the obstacles that await. When you’re young, the world will tell you that you dream too big. That sort of pessimistic lie is just a minor setback.

  • You know when you’re hungry and your stomach starts growling and groaning? That is what happened to me one night, and I said my tummy monster needed to be fed again. So that is what sparked this somewhat weird image. =P Made this with ink on a brown paper bag, then added the white outline in Photoshop.

  • This is my first linocut, whooo. I had a lot of trouble making it, not so much the cutting (though I did cut my finger, ouch), but the printing. I think I need more practice with that heh. Ended up having to touch up the image with a paintbrush, and then clean it up in Photoshop. And this is the result. A little girl sleeping in the arms of her favourite monster. =)

  • My entry for Buildings and Cityscapes Challenge / All My Series /
