From the original gouache and coloured pencil on watercolour paper. Despite winning a number of awards and commendations, this picture has never been for sale – it is one of the first illustrations I did and hangs above my bed because I just love it so much! The moral of this picture is that when the last of our hope leaves this world, all that will be left will be dull and lifeless. The butterflies symbolise flight and transformation. The unicorn represents hope, creativity, purity and spirit. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I do. A drawing for a children’s story i wrote once. It is drawn in pen and ink, and coloured in photoshop. This is where i started to learn how to use p’shop.

/ ... / A bit of an experiment. The addition of dots allows all shirt colour to show through making this image suitable for any colour (except the really dark ones). / I’ve seen people achieve the same effect on their designs with transparent colours but I don’t think RedBubble can print transparent colours properly and they go a bit blotchy. So this is an attempt at a workaround. Also available- /

This is my first linocut, whooo. I had a lot of trouble making it, not so much the cutting (though I did cut my finger, ouch), but the printing. I think I need more practice with that heh. Ended up having to touch up the image with a paintbrush, and then clean it up in Photoshop. And this is the result. A little girl sleeping in the arms of her favourite monster. =)
