  • Ode to Georgia O’Keeffe. FEATURED in: / COLOR ME A RAINBOW, (color orange) December 10, 2009 / ART FOR THE WORLD, December 20, 2009 / INVITE ONLY-Best of FEATURED Rainbow Works I just love her passionate art work. / To paint like her is to understand her suggestive play between delicate shafts of light and shadow. You become one with her passion for revealing illuminations. Georgia O’Keeffe one of the great modern U.S. artists was a painter known for her unique, individualistic style. / Her work is sensual evoking the sense of the subject of the painting and somehow both realistic and abstract. For years people have been seeing all kinds of things in O’Keeffe’s flowers: they’re erotic and sensual for sure! / O’Keeffe admits there is reason for her flowers and landscapes to be considered as symbols of the unconscious. She is chiefly known for paintings in which she synthesized abstraction and representation in paintings of flowers, rocks, shells, animal bones and landscapes. / Her paintings present crisply contoured forms that are replete with subtle tonal transitions of varying colors. / She often transformed her subject matter into powerful abstract images. OIL on gallery style studio stretched canvas with creative edge. / Dimensions: 16”x20” Gallery style 1.5 stretchers on medium texture cotton duck (creative edge) ORIGINAL OIL AVAILABLE FOR GALLERY EXHIBITION / CONTACT ARTIST DIRECTLY BY EMAIL

  • Work exhibited in the Visual Arts Association Group Exhibition ‘Four Seasons’, held Cairns Regional Gallery, Qld. / The exhibition theme was inspired by the Vivaldi’s music ‘The Four Seasons’. Mixed media – archival black ink, acrylic, collage – paper painted, mono & screen-printed, drawing, photo; screen-printed cotton fabric, carpet material; on canvas. Background: I had been working individually on art compositions relative to my passion to interpret music, rhythm, movement and energy through the use of formal visual art elements ie. line, colour, tone, shape, texture and art media. The interpretation of any music requires one’s senses to hear and feel, absorb sound and energies, to internalize and contemplate, as apposed to recording information seen/perceived through the eyes from the physical ‘outer’ world. One has to create and interpret a visionary abstract, from a pure transitional and spiritual sensual state, from one’s own internal environment, the knowledge, understanding and experience one brings to canvas for the moments of manifestation. I jumped at the chance when this exhibition theme came up. Also I am much inspired by Kandinsky and his work, a long time favourite art philosopher and mentor. ....................................... /

  • . i m a g i n a t i o n . . .© Vicki Ferrari YOUR TIME MAY BE LIMITED BUT YOUR IMAGINATION IS NOT / Anonymous QUILPIE TRAX— This series was created when I was having a difficult time and found that all my reserves seemed to point me in a creative direction, and didn’t I have fun with it! If you are ever not coping with life, be creative! It brings you out of the doldrums in a big way! The satisfaction of seeing something that you created is a wonderful feeling. I hope that this feeling comes across in these series, created in December 2008. Has anyone else noticed how much this person Anonymous wrote & no-one seems to know where he lived, what he looked like?! He was so talented, wasn’t he?! This photograph of Queensland Railway Tracks was taken in February 2005. It is taken in the morning between Quilpie and Charleville, looking west. There is more to come in this series, still being created! This card (graphics) were designed in December 2008, using Photoshop. If purchasing as a motivational, inspirational or greeting card, the BLACK background blends is well with the black border. It is available up to POSTER size, if that is your desire! I only hope that you find this as inspiring as I found it when creating it! Tech Data / Nikon D70s

  • Coloured Pencil and Ink on 280 gsm Glass Ivory Paper - / (40cm x 60cm) Worked on this one for over a week, through the wee small hours of the mornings. All my art is cathartic, it’s how I balance my life, creating is my reason to go on. When I’m up I create, when I’m down I create, creativity is my balance. I did this as one of my first experiments into coloured pencil art, and found the whole ‘colouring in’ process so very relaxing and calming. I couldn’t help but feel happyness and joy while doing this. I spent every moment I could as a child, laying on my tummy, drawing, colouring. Nothing has changed, I’m still laying on my tummy, drawing, colouring (lol) Views: 703 as at 25-11-2009 / Favourites: 38 as at 25-11-2009 FEATURED in ‘Coloured Pencil Art’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Fantastic Primitive Art’(June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘First Things’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Hand Drawn or Painted Art of Happiness & Joy’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Freedom to Shine’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Fantastic Primitive Art’ (July 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Colour Me a Rainbow’ (July 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Creative Cards’ (July 2009) / FEATURED In ‘Globes, Spheres and Curves’ (July 2009) / FEATURED in ‘The New Beat Generation’ (August 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Spectacular Spirals’ August, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Healing through Art’ November, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Oh so emotional (happy)’ November, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Healing through art (HTA)’ November, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Impressionism Cafe’ December 2009 /

  • textures, coloring, brushes / Featured in Dream and Fantasy Art 07/11/2009 / Featured in Dimensions 08/11/2009 / Featured in Textures Unlimited 08/11/2009 This is by far the nicest piece of art which I have created. This piece of art is a piece of my soul. I had an awsome feeling by the treatment… I was completely excited as it was ready … and quarrelled with me whether it really ready something is to be changed…, however, with every attempt something suggested itself upon me that it was better before… I hope you like it like me… “

  • 12×16 acrylic on canvas I couldn’t help it, I had to paint one more enchanted doll. Here is the original inspiration. And here is the lovely reference for the barn owl.

  • As I was painting this abstract, I pondered the many meanings to the word “approach”...for example there is…. / The simple act of drawing near…. / A way, passage, or avenue by which a place or buildings can be approached; an access. / The temporal property of becoming nearer in time..e.g. “the approach of winter” / The final path followed by an aircraft as it is landing… / My painting is mainly concerned with the last two…I wanted to evoke both meanings of the word…it is the final curtain of autumn and winter is fast approaching..pockets of red and orange gleam here and there, as autumn stubbornly defies the chill, but at night the icy fingers of winter touches everything with frost..in the countryside snow drifts casually down, as if refusing to admit it’s here for good…another look at the painting evokes the final approach to land…stars twinkle in the night sky, the land shows the last vestiges of fall and the approach of winter….we are excited, relieved to have made it home safely once more... Watercolour on Aquaboard The half-stripped trees / struck by a wind together, / bending all, / the leaves flutter drily / and refuse to let go / or driven like hail / stream bitterly out to one side / and fall / where the salvias, hard carmine— / like no leaf that ever was— / edge the bare garden. William Carlos Williams / A Conjunction of Elements / After The Harvest / There’s A Light in the Darkness / Midnight on Egdon Heath / Reflected Glory / Tightwire / Realities
