  • Mixed Medium on canvas… approx A3 in size. Hi everyone, I did this, this afternoon, it took me an hour, exploring with mixed medium. Inspired by Billylee and her print making… so incorporated some printing, water colour, collage and inks… Probably something I should varnish… but if it’s framed behind glass not sure if I’ll risk it. Have no idea what it should be titled so maybe you can help me … I have been part of RB since mid October and never had a work on the featured pages… could this be it? Looking forward to your comments and feedback, I know it’s not my usual style, but / hopefully someone out there likes it!

  • The Sea Venture was one of the first ships to arrive in Bermuda. It was thrown accidentally off course by a hurricane and landed on the reefs intact. Its original course was with a fleet from England headed towards / Jamestown, Virginia to aid in the colonization. From being shipwrecked, the crew and passengers of the Sea Venture settled in Bermuda and benefitted from its tropical paradise and set up a small colony. This painting is a Mixed Media piece, combining original digital photography taken in Bermuda by me SBC, with my painting, and drawings. It is intended to capture the natural and surreal beauty of Bermuda through my eyes. This art won an Honorable Mention Award in the Rowayton Art Show in 2006 and First Place in the Darien Art Show in 2007. It is presently being considered for exhibition at the Royal Navy Dockyard Museum in Bermuda. Thank you for your interest, comments and purchases!

  • Work exhibited in the Visual Arts Association Group Exhibition ‘Four Seasons’, held Cairns Regional Gallery, Qld. / The exhibition theme was inspired by the Vivaldi’s music ‘The Four Seasons’. Mixed media – archival black ink, acrylic, collage – paper painted, mono & screen-printed, drawing, photo; screen-printed cotton fabric, carpet material; on canvas. Background: I had been working individually on art compositions relative to my passion to interpret music, rhythm, movement and energy through the use of formal visual art elements ie. line, colour, tone, shape, texture and art media. The interpretation of any music requires one’s senses to hear and feel, absorb sound and energies, to internalize and contemplate, as apposed to recording information seen/perceived through the eyes from the physical ‘outer’ world. One has to create and interpret a visionary abstract, from a pure transitional and spiritual sensual state, from one’s own internal environment, the knowledge, understanding and experience one brings to canvas for the moments of manifestation. I jumped at the chance when this exhibition theme came up. Also I am much inspired by Kandinsky and his work, a long time favourite art philosopher and mentor. ....................................... /

  • The painting is based on a photo I took on Dartmoor a few years ago. The light was fantastic and I’ve expanded on that to create this vibrant landscape.

DIGITAL PORTRAIT PAINTING – PHOTO PAINTING SERVICES Apple Blossom Chickadee has been nominated for the prestigous Pay it Forward Group by JackyP. This is what she said about your image / “.this is a particular favourite of mine and always makes me smile :) The image seems to sum up the arrival of spring with the lovely blossom and little chickadee. Renee puts a lot of time and love into her work and the results are just pure bliss!! / -—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- / Thank you so very much Jacky! / -—-—-—-—-—-—-——- / Featured in Painted-Digitally – February 25, 2009 / Featured in Cards: Best of your Best – February 2, 2009 / Featured in Country Bumpkin August 6, 2009 This art started out as a photograph of a black-capped chickadee sitting on a barren branch. After a very long winter (so far) I needed something that sang Spring time is just around the corner! After a lot of fuss, and several hours, in Photoshop and Painter X this is the final result. Every pixel of this piece was re-painted (digitally) by hand. All of the apple blossoms and leaves were created from scratch. As a final touch I added some texture to the piece to give it that last little edge I was looking for. I hope this image inspires you to dream of Spring :) / / Lavender Finch / / Fine Art Gallery / Bird Gallery / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST

  • While I was into painting (20 odd years ago) I painted this … an explosion of colour on my base fave colour {green} [house paints on acrylic poster paint!] / I remember being a bit peeved I didn’t have a few more vibrant jewel like colours like red and orange and purple! but this was pretty cool I thought! Wanting to go every-which-way all-at-once! / ( No wonder people think I’m crazy! lol ) Thanks for checking out my visual art! Chookas! ☼

  • Watercolor, gouache and pencil on board, / 11×14 / 2009 The heart has a voice and a music, the same ones your spirit have recognized for many ages. The voice of your heart is the voice of freedom. Through it you’ll be able to find yourself and find your inner God. Let that voice be heard, recognize yourself as the creator of your own reality. Put aside all the masks they have made you wear in order to belong to the illusions they created. Don’t waste your life living them. Be what you are born to be.

  • 12×16 acrylic on canvas I couldn’t help it, I had to paint one more enchanted doll. Here is the original inspiration. And here is the lovely reference for the barn owl.

  • As I was painting this abstract, I pondered the many meanings to the word “approach”...for example there is…. / The simple act of drawing near…. / A way, passage, or avenue by which a place or buildings can be approached; an access. / The temporal property of becoming nearer in time..e.g. “the approach of winter” / The final path followed by an aircraft as it is landing… / My painting is mainly concerned with the last two…I wanted to evoke both meanings of the word…it is the final curtain of autumn and winter is fast approaching..pockets of red and orange gleam here and there, as autumn stubbornly defies the chill, but at night the icy fingers of winter touches everything with frost..in the countryside snow drifts casually down, as if refusing to admit it’s here for good…another look at the painting evokes the final approach to land…stars twinkle in the night sky, the land shows the last vestiges of fall and the approach of winter….we are excited, relieved to have made it home safely once more... Watercolour on Aquaboard The half-stripped trees / struck by a wind together, / bending all, / the leaves flutter drily / and refuse to let go / or driven like hail / stream bitterly out to one side / and fall / where the salvias, hard carmine— / like no leaf that ever was— / edge the bare garden. • 22×28 acrylic on canvas 37 favorites as of 12-10-09 I listened to a lot the Iron and Wine while painting this one. I think it kind of took on the vibration of the music. / For more on the symbolism and my thoughts behind this one please vist my blog
