  • On my world the spring is always a good sign, new visitors blossom from the fields, meadows and hills. Sometimes strange new flora and fauna appear. But this spring someting quite unique appeared in our skies, flying machines of incredible design, and there are creatures in them, they call their race “human” and they say, we come from the stars. It is a time of wonder, and we always need new friends.

  • I was heading back home after a good day of fishing, I just wanted to be home with good food and a warm fire. But coming down the trail I got that feeling I sometimes get on cold nights like this. Its just one of those simple things we tend to forget in our busy lives. / I powered down the hover, turned off the lights, sat back and was rewarded with probably the greatest view on any world. A cold clear night, hardly any breeze, the sea like glass and the Dragons Eye Nebulas riding the sky with a backdrop of what looked like a billion stars. / Sometimes its those little things that have the greatest impact on you, and its times like this that let us know just how insignificant we really are in the vastness of space. So remember that feeling on those crisp nights, just stop and take in the night sky on whatever world you are, feel the peace ….........in the still of the night.

  • In the histories of ancient lighthouses a number stand out more than others, such is the light “Qualar’s Sun” on the northern coast of Santo. Built in the 2nd century by cosmo-technician Jolas Qualar, it was a marvel of the age. / Qualar used solar energy from the second sun he created in the night sky to power the disc that seemed to float above the bronze tower. The light itself could be seen from the moon and even ships entering the system knew instantly where the planet Nippseen spun in relation to the other planets and satellites in the system. / Of course there always seem to be a flaws in great works, the flaw in this one came about when Qualar died in a lab. explosion, taking with him the secret of his sun which even then was dimming. The light from the disc continued to glow for about 200 years, and then gradually diminished until finally going dark and no amount of technology as being able to make it work since, although many have tried. / And so here it sits on above the Endless Sea, now its just an oddity, and the sun he created just hangs in space, slowly dying. ‘excerpt from “Ancient Lighthouses of the Milky Way Galaxy” 24th edition
