I just can’t resist these! Not just eating them, but painting them! What’s not to love about a tender little cake in its tiny paper ruffled liner, topped with rich creamy chocolate frosting, loaded with colorful sprinkles! If I don’t make it as an artist, I might just have to open up a bakery!!!

I do wonder what will become of her when she grows up. I wonder what will become of all of us. There is a selfishness that never wants this moment to end, you know. This moment. The very one you’re contemplating right now. Each droplet of water, frozen by the camera, reflecting light and refracting a moment in time. Time that cannot be stopped. Is it unfortunate, that it has to change? I guess it’s not all perfect, but then it could get worse rather than better, couldn’t it. What more do we want? I mean what more do we really need anyway? Is there nothing I can sacrifice to guarantee her future? I guess not, why would one half-spent life be more valuable than another, so young and so fresh. That makes sense. What! I cannot just sit still and let fate take it’s course. I’ll simply continue each day as I do, working hard to do the best I can for her. Ha ha, old father time steals from fate just as he does from each of us. Each day that passes, each precious moment spent, cannot be taken away. It’s there, that moment. It’s there in the picture.

Lover’s Key is a small group of mangrove islands located in Lee County between Ft. Myers Beach, Fl, and Bonita Beach. It’s right on the Gulf of Mexico. The islands are collectively known as Lover’s Key State Park (formerly Carl E. Johnson Park). Inland backwaters full of fish, birds, and marine life, separate the islands from each other. Boats with motors are not allowed within the Park, but motorboats are allowed in the Gulf and Bay waters surrounding the Park, and there is a boat ramp within the park. This is to protect the abundant wildlife, which includes manatees, dolphins, various herons and roseate spoonbills, ospreys, bald eagles, raccoons, rabbits, squirrels, snook, mullet, rays, and a large variety of shellfish.

The gilled-underside to Pleurotus dryinus, the Vieled Oyster. / This is a mushroom favorite of the Many-headed Slime mould. I have been photographing this particular grouping for several days now to record the deterioration and take over of the slime. / I finally felt bad and ‘rescued’ 4 off this patch….....the stem was only infected on one and that was easily cut off. / Soaked them in hot salty water then rinsed in cold….....diced up and then sauteed in salt-free butter (already salty from the soaking). / They’ll be added to a rice dish tomorrow with some wild onions, goat milk, ground almonds, and parmesean cheese. / <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> / Thank you everyone so much for viewing, favoring, commenting!
