Digital art. Scottish Pipers lament for the dead. For the Scots who died in battle in defence of the nation as well as the industries, craftsmanship and workers of Scotland that have now faded to a memory.

Pilgrim Church in Flinders Street, Adelaide, South Australia, was built as a memorial to the pioneer Congregational minister of South Australia, Thomas Quinton Stow, and originally named Stow Memorial Church. The land for the building was purchased in 1863 by the Freeman Street Congregationalists, and a foundation stone laid in 1865. The church was designed in the Gothic Revival style by Robert Thomas, who was also the architect of Flinders Street Baptist Church. The detailed stone carvings decorating the columns of the entrance porch (including a stone squirrel) were the work of Samuel Peters of Sydney. The interior dimensions are in multiples of seven, using the Old Testament references to seven as the perfect number. The seventy foot tower designed by Thomas was never completed. The church was opened for services on 12 April 1867. The Pirie Street Methodist Church abutted the rear fence of Stow Memorial, and in 1969, as an early step towards what would become the Uniting Church in Australia, the two congregations united as the ‘Union Church in the City’. The Pirie Street church closed in 1972 and was subsequently demolished. The remaining church became known as the Pilgrim Church in 1977.
“Which is greater, the student or the teacher? / Which has greater understanding, the apprentice or the master? / Who is more admired, the instrumentalist or the composer? / We marvel at the wonderful works of creation such as the bird who makes a nest with all the intricate detail and weaving it’s construction, do we forget who it was that made the bird and gave it the ability? / Time to remember the “Master Craftsman” who shows his love in his creation.” This is a photo of a nest I found on my way to take my little girl to school. This photo is for my great friend George who wanted to see in more detail the construction of the nest, a beautiful talent we can see bird have. This photo is ‘as is’ straight from the camera. This industrious little chap is building a nest in my garden – in fact, he’s built three already! The male here is decked out in his finest regalia, his breeding plumage – his feathers only change to this vibrant shade of yellow during this season.
Just a fun juxtaposition of me and my Dean guitar. Description for DAC: Shot a photo of my guitar, duplicated it in the Layers palette. On the copy layer, I painted black around the outer edges of the guitar where there were some remnants of the cloth background I shot the guitar on. I then shot a photo of some of my sheet music and placed it in as a new layer, and lowered the opacity to about 40% of it so it wasn’t so bright imposed over the guitar body. I erased the overlapped parts that went outside the guitar body. Next, I placed a layer of a photo of myself and rotated it to fit the sound hole of my guitar, and erased the overlap outside the sound hole. I then flattened the image and here it is..

The architecture in Old Town Sacramento, shows how this part of the city has been lovingly restored. The woodwork, wrought iron and carefully painted window, shows pure craftsmanship of another era!
