  • Panorama of 14 images and around 300 degrees fov….Taken from near Hansons Peak ~ Cradle Mountain N.P. ~ Tasmania ~ Aus. / A beautiful scene surrounded by the Autumnal tones of the Fagus. Taken late in the day when the cloud layer lifted and around the same time as a couple of single shots of this place I uploaded a short time ago. As always, I lugged my heavy pano head everywhere I went trekking. Often questioning whether it was worth it as it weighs down your pack considerably..I thought if there was any a time to use it, this was it..! clambering up over rocks to this vantage spot and fired off a few pans. Finally trekking back off the mountain in the dark but very happy with the days efforts….thanks for having a look and any comments…cheers, Rob. / ps, and yes, I’m getting towards the end of my Tas collection…finally..!! Still a few pans to work on from the Tasman though..

  • Cradle Snow VI stems from one glorius day here at Cradle Mountain. As with previous images presented here on RB, this stems from a series of images taken on the morning of July 7 2009. I wasn’t going to present anymore of these images, but others have convinced me not to be selfish.I just thought it would bore people to see similar images of the same thing. / Cradle Mountain/Lake St Claire National Park Tasmania. / Canon 50d / Canon 18-55 lens / / /

  • I started off at four in the morning over Hansens Peak,it was seven degrees below freezing, the trail was covered in snow and the ground water had turned to black ice. I made it in position just before sun up having slipped over twice…...loved every second of it.

  • I have been after this shot for over a year now, I have made six individual attempts over Hansons Peak to get it. Finally spring 2009, one beautiful Thursday morning I began hiking at 3.30am to arrive on sight an hour before first light…..it was bloody cold. The light was superb and it was a privilege to witness. The mountain actually turned that amazing ocre red colour and I feel I achieved the minimalistic feel I was after.
