Eau De Parfume with attitude. / When I recently told a girl friend to stop being a bitch she said “Sorry, it must be the perfume.” / Likely story, but it gave this little bit of inspiration. I seriously need to get out and take some new photos! / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-——-

Eurasian Eagle Owl ( Bubo bubo ) This little girl who has no pet name as yet they just call her baby she is only three weeks old and is part of a successful breeding program and probably the cutest bird that I have uploaded to date she was just adorable…. (-: Description: When of adult size the upperparts are brown-black and tawny-buff, showing as dense freckling on the forehead and crown, stripes on the nape, sides and back of the neck, and dark splotches on the pale ground colour of the back, mantle and scapulars. A narrow buff band, freckled with brown buff, runs up from the base of the bill, above the inner part of the eye and along the inner edge of the black-brown, “ear-tufts”. Habits: Active mainly at dusk to dawn. Flight is noiseless, whith soft wingbeats interrupted by gliding when flying over long distance. Will sometimes soar. Voice: A deep, monotonous “oohu-oohu-oohu”. The female’s call is slightly higher than the male’s. When threatened, they may bark and growl. Hunting & Food: Eagle Owls have various hunting techniques, and will take prey on the ground or in full flight. They may hunt in forests, but prefer open spaces. / Eagle Owls will eat almost anything the moves – from beetles to roe deer fawns. The major part of their diet consists of mammals (Voles, rats, mice, foxes, hares etc…), but birds of all kinds are also taken, including crows, ducks, grouse, seabirds, and even other birds of prey (including other owls). Other prey taken include snakes, lizards, frogs, fish, and crabs. / The most common type of prey depends largely on relative availability, but are usually voles and rats. In some coastal areas, they have been known to feed mainly on ducks and seabirds. / Pellets are somewhat compressed, irregularly cylindrical or conical shaped, averaging about 75×32 mm (3×1.25”). Habitat: Eagle Owls occupy a variety of habitats, from coniferous forests to warm deserts. Rocky landscapes are often favoured. Adequate food supply and nesting sites seem to be the most important prerequisites. Distribution: North Africa, Europe, Asia, Middle East.

A crab had delicately made these balls at the entry to its hole on the beach….it just happened to be in the shape of a heart! / You can see the crab hole at the bottom of the heart.

This is the second image in the Zodiac series especially created for the amazing Gal Lo Leggio For others in this series ARIES / PISCES / LIBRA / LEO / TAURUS Cancer June 22 to July 22 The Cancerian character is the least clear-cut of all those associated with the signs of the zodiac. It can range from the timid, dull, shy and withdrawn to the most brilliant, and famous Cancerians are to be found through the whole range of human activity. It is a fundamentally conservative and home-loving nature, appreciating the nest like quality of a secure base to which the male can retire when he needs a respite from the stresses of life, and in which the Cancerian woman can exercise her strong maternal instincts. The latter tends to like and to have a large family. `Nest like’ is an appropriate adjective for the Cancerian home, for its inhabitants tend to favor the dark, mysterious but comfortable type of house which has something of the air of a den about it, a place which belongs to the family rather than existing as a showcase to impress visitors. / That is not to say that the Cancerian is unsociable, just that for them there is a time to socialize and a time to be solitary, and this is part of the apparent contradiction in their nature. Outwardly they can appear formidable – thick-skinned, unemotional, uncompromising, obstinately tenacious, purposeful, energetic, shrewd, intuitive and wise, sometimes with a philosophical profundity of thought verging on inspiration. Their intimates, however, may see a very different character, one with a sympathetic and kindly sensitivity to other people, especially those they love. They are able to identify with the situations of others because of the keenness of their imaginations. They are often over-imaginative and prone to fantasy, sometimes trying to shape their lives to fit some romantic ideal. They are appreciative of art and literature, and especially of drama, where the spectacle and ebb and flow of action and feeling particularly excite them. They may themselves possess considerable literary, artistic or oratorical talent. Their sharp ears and talent for mimicry can sometimes give them success on the stage, though their tendency to be emotional may make them overact. Interestingly – because they give the impression of being down-to-earth – they are often fascinated by the occult and are more open to psychic influence than the average. If they can reconcile the personal conflict of their urge to be outgoing with the reserve that causes them to withdraw into themselves, then at best they can inspire a generation, especially the youthful part of it, by their idealism.
This yellow flower crab spider sits motionless on yellow flowers and then surprises it’s prey. Here, a helpless bee is easy pickens . The yellow flower crab spider blends in seemlessly in yellow flowers, and is practically invisible to the naked eye. I checked in on this guy all day. He sat patiently for 12 hours, until the moment was just right. He uses no webs-just camouflage and precision timing! / Nature is amazing! (Windsor, CT.)
I love lazy days fossicking on the beach. There should be an eighth day in every week just for this :) Cocos (keeling) Islands For enquires about canvas prints, or photographic prints larger than Redbubble options, please contact me via bubblemail

Took this shot of a juvenile Pacific Gull (Larus pacificus) at Red Bluff last week on a family holiday at Lake Tyers. Another shot that demonstrates the liberating power of my new 5DmkII as this sort of pic was difficult and expensive (on motor drive) for me to take with my old landscape optimized Velvia50 film set up. Camera: Canon EOS 5D mkII / Lens: EF 100-300 f/4.5-5.6 USM @ 300mm / Filter: UV / ISO: 200? / Shutter Speed: 1/250thsec / Aperture: f/13 / WB: Auto / Post production: jpeg, straightened, cropped and levels in Microsoft Office Picture Manager (yuk, I’ll redo it properly next week from the RAW in PS) Check out my Birds gallery for more avian delights. Hermit crab in Rarotonga, the kids had lots of fun with these guys! He survived the ordeal if you’re wondering!
This one’s a bit of a diversion for me. I’m just trying to avoid finishing my children series! I eventually broke down and bought a book on photo shop techniques . I’m not sure it helped that much as this image took me 5 times longer to create! / Still, it keeps me out of trouble I guess….
