  • Self portrait from an abandoned mine site in the NV desert.

  • [please note: the grey sections of the graphics do not actually print grey, more as a darker tint of whatever background colour you choose]

  • Taken along the shores of the South Saskatchewan River. This photo was taken of an unsuspecting crowd. I captured the image with my Canon S80 (my current camera of the time). I was completely taken by surprise on how the images turned out. If I had known the results would be so good I would have tried to clean the scene up a bit. Although the photo may not have worked if any of them knew that the camera was on them. • “Gift of Love” is the English Translation from Hawaiian. I have photographed this family for many years as they grow and expand; three generations of loving images. The father is a working ranch hand on Maui’s large Ka’ono’ulu Ranch. Yes, a real Hawaiian cowboy—known here as a paniolo. Funny story: I submitted this image to iStockphoto knowing its value in stock would be huge. Well, like most of my submissions, it was rejected. This time they called it PORNOGRAPHY!!!! I almost had to laugh…. and cry. Well, at this point I am glad it it not in the public domain as stock. I’ll wait for the perfect client to come along and do this image proud!

  • YEEEEEEEEE-HAAAAAAAAAWWWW Have you ever wondered where young Imperial AT-ATs were trained and broken in before they grew up to become the highly efficient killers you witness on the ice fields of Hoth ? AT-AT the Rodeo of course !! My extensive research into Star Wars history has unveiled this little known fact and I have made a t-shirt to celebrate it. As seen on HIDEYOURARMS list of 202 Star Wars t-shirts Other Geek Chic designs (click images to view):

I’m allergic to purple and terrifying to Virgos.

A full moon and scorching summer night make my muse playful. She’s a frisky one. If only flirtation could be this much fun, hey?

  • “Chisholm” is a signed, original, pastel and prismacolor pencil drawing. Drawn on card stock, acid free, bonded no tooth artist drawing paper. / All of my drawings are sprayed with a final professional artist protective fixitive. The romance of the West, Southwest and the Cowboy is a subject I always return to. I live both in Colorado and in Nevada, so I have an endless supply of personal photography that I draw from for these drawings. I personally developed this sharp focus pastel and prismacolor pencil technique to make my drawings come alive. / My studio is located in Mesquite, Nevada. As with all of my artwork , my initials are on the front with full signature, title and date on back. / Thank you for viewing my art. / VIEW Susan’sGallery / VIEW Susan’sZazzle /

  • Most of you have heard this song. You know, Where Have All the Cowboys Gone is the name of a song by Paula Cole. / Basically, it´s about a woman who for all her life dreamed of being a cowboy’s wife. One day she does indeed marry one of these “cowboys”. But over the years she discovers her dream man doesn’t live up to her expectations, and finds herself an unhappy housewife, asking to the heavens where all the cowboys went. / Here I tried to put the song into another context, another culture; perhaps, closer to the universe that surrounds me everyday. Cause I think the essence of this song perfectly fits everywhere, all the time. And here are the lyrics: Where Have All The Cowboys Gone Oh you get me ready in your 56 chevy / Why dont we go sit down in the shade / Take shelter on my front porch / The dandy lion sun scorching, / Like a glass of cold lemonade / I will do laundry if you pay all the bills Chorus: Where is my john wayne / Where is my prairie son / Where is my happy ending / Where have all the cowboys gone Why dont you stay the evening / Kick back and watch the tv / And Ill fix a little something to eat / Oh I know your back hurts from working on the tractor / How do you take your coffee my sweet / I will raise the children if you pay all the bills Chorus I am wearing my new dress tonight / But you dont even notice me / Say our goodbyes (3 times) We finally sold the chevy / When we had another baby / And you took that job in tennessee / You made friends at the farm / And you joined them at the bar / Almost every single day of the week I will wash the dishes while you go have a beer / Where is my john wayne / Where is my prairie son / Where is my happy ending / Where have all the cowboys gone / Where is my marlboro man / Where is his shiny gun / Where is my lonely ranger / Where have all the cowboys gone / Yippee aw, yippee yea (3 times)

  • A Cowboy friend of mine wanted this portrait…and myself being a Cowboy Junkie…I sure didn’t mind . / This drawing was drawn with a mixture of Pastel Pencils and Prismacolor Pencils, on card stock, acid free, low tooth, bonded artist drawing paper. Sprayed with a fixitive to prevent fading and ensure preservation. I have a private Fine Art and Photography Studio now at my home in Mesquite, Nevada.

  • Going back to Colorado for our daughter’s wedding, I had the opportunity to take some pictures of artwork I had done years ago. / My family and friends have these works hanging in their homes…some of my paintings I hadn’t seen in many years since we had sold our ranch and moved to the desert. / This painting was painted almost 25 years ago when I was just beginning my Romantic Western Art journey. / This piece is 24” X 28”, painted with oil on stretched artist canvas.

  • My first painting in over two years…my pastel drawings and photography became front and center as of late…I actually found my brushes had cob webs! / But true to form, I return to western art as it a subject that I feel comfortabe with and was a good way to help get me back in the groove. / This is a 24”X28” oil and acrylic painting. / Painted on Gallery Wrapped Linen Portrait Canvas / Thanks for viewing my art.
