At the Phillipsburg, Kansas 2007 Rodeo. Wish I had a larger file of it. I didn’t have a computer at the time and the file was made smaller to not take up too much space on my dad’s palm pilot. I should of have him save it to a cd but I don’t think he could of from work.
4 images blended. The silhouette is from a regular color photograph of mine and took way too long to create. LOL! I brought the cowboy, moon, trees and pond together just for fun. There’s a certain feeling a cowboy has when he is in the wilderness with just his horse and the sounds of crickets, a light breeze and a slow moving stream.
3d digital art of a cowboy hunter heading home after a successful Deer hunt.
This digital painting of a cowboy in a predicament is published by a national company as a greeting card and other gift products (mugs, magnets, t-shirts, etc.) The card has a verse inside “hope things are looking up,” a satirical greeting of hope and well wishes to anyone going through tough times. Whether in a western setting, humorous or serious, it is a look at the way life sometimes puts us at odds with seemingly impossible situations… you either laugh or cry, and pray like crazy. Angel and Iris (left and right respectively) are mother and daughter. They have a pretty tight bond and I sat in the pasture (rain soaked) for about 3 hours waiting to catch this opportunity! For fun, I have also posted a picture of Iris eating my tripod while I was changing lens! This image has sold as a framed print in Tigert Art Gallery, Vermillion, South Dakota.

The valley lies within the range of the Navajo Nation Reservation, and is accessible from U.S. Highway 163. The Navajo name for the valley is Tsé Bii’ Ndzisgaii (Valley of the Rocks). / The area is part of the Colorado Plateau. The darker, blue-gray rocks in the valley get their color from manganese oxide. / Monument Valley has been featured in many forms of media since the 1930s. Appearances include movies, such as Westerns by Director John Ford, and science fiction movies such as Back to the Future III; television appearances as in MacGyver; as well as DVD covers, book covers, and video games such as the Playstation 3 video game Motorstorm. source: wikipedia The Watchman / Moraine Lake / Banff National Park, Moraine Lake / Bryce Canyon National Park, The Lonely Tree / Purden Lake / Sunset in Tofino / Bryce Canyon National Park / Grand National Park, Hazy View /
“Gift of Love” is the English Translation from Hawaiian. I have photographed this family for many years as they grow and expand; three generations of loving images. The father is a working ranch hand on Maui’s large Ka’ono’ulu Ranch. Yes, a real Hawaiian cowboy—known here as a paniolo. Funny story: I submitted this image to iStockphoto knowing its value in stock would be huge. Well, like most of my submissions, it was rejected. This time they called it PORNOGRAPHY!!!! I almost had to laugh…. and cry. Well, at this point I am glad it it not in the public domain as stock. I’ll wait for the perfect client to come along and do this image proud!
Original digital photograph. Taken with a Sony Full HD 1080 Cyber Shot camera. Many people do not know (I didn’t until I went on this drive) that you can’t herd Buffalo, you drive them…the American Bison is our representation of the African Rhino…A full grown Male Buffalo can over turn a truck and kill a horse in the blink of an eye. I had it explained to me by one of the many professional drovers, that you have to make the “Lows” as they are called..think it is their idea to go in a certain direction… and you can’t push them like a herd of cattle…it is the hardest job on the face of this earth. A Cowboy can not get within 25 feet of the outside line because Buffalo have explosive tempers and pretty much hate horses. / Taking pictures of this drive was like filming an epic saga of history…it truly felt as if we were all in this time warp of 200 years ago. My husband and I were invited by the Gov. of South Dakota to help with the yearly Buffalo Roundup. This is an event that takes place every year to round up the 2000 plus herd of Buffalo of the Black Hills and take them over 25 miles to holding pens for vaccination, doctoring and culling. / This was the most awesome experience…all on horse back and photo opportunities of a lifetime. Going back to Colorado for our daughter’s wedding, I had the opportunity to take some pictures of artwork I had done years ago. / My family and friends have these works hanging in their homes…some of my paintings I hadn’t seen in many years since we had sold our ranch and moved to the desert. / This painting was painted almost 25 years ago when I was just beginning my Romantic Western Art journey. / This piece is 24” X 28”, painted with oil on stretched artist canvas.
Lee Anderson brought his horse, Dusty, cowboy gear and outfits to the Empire Ranch Open House in Sonoita, Arizona, to tell the history of the American cowboy circa 1880-1920. As romanticized in numerous motion pictures, cowboys always seem to be larger than life. The truth about their life and times, however, is far different from the movie myth. Photographed with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 with two free texture layers from stock.xchng.com added. / “Lee and Dusty” has been featured in: / THE WILD WEST SHOW/October, 2009 / VISUAL ARTISTS OF GREEN VALLEY/November, 2009 / MEN APPRECIATION/November, 2009 / /
