This is the image I used for both the front and back cover of “Snow Man is my Friend.” It’s simple, but it’s kind of sweet at the same time. Wait. Did I just type, “It’s simple but it’s kind of sweet?” Who am I, Rachel Ray? This also marks the first drawing of the actual snow man from the book. No doubt some of you were thinking, “Why in the hell did he title a book Snow Man is My Friend if there isn’t a snow man in it?”

Abstract digital mixed media / photographs and flame fractals / / 9.8 megapixels (3840×2560), 2009.02.14th / / This is part of a current graphic project where I hope to design an album cover for a friend’s ethnodrones soundscape music. More details soon. / Although no material I used is directly linked to Peru, and I didn’t know about Paracas culture before researching it from my friend’s track title (‘Paracas’), it seems his music, that I listened to while creating the picture, magically guided me towards this abstraction strangely reminiscent of Pre-Columbian geoglyphs.
