The melting of the polar ice caps made for an easy win for the Walrus Kingdom against the dreaded Polar Bears. Now that his enemies (and also the 95% of the entire human/ land animal population) had drowned, the Walrus King now had time for more pleasurable activities… like dating. He sailed the oceans for weeks on end, trying to find somebody interesting to talk to. It wasn’t until he came across a small island (which was actually the top of a huge trash dump that was now submerged) that he finally found any sign of life. On the island was a crocodile named Margaret, happily chowing down on the last humans that had managed to survive the flood. “Wow, what a nice smile she has! Can’t say she’s got great taste in food, but otherwise she seems normal enough…” So the Walrus King paddled up to Margaret, and said to her the words that he hoped would work better than they had with his ex-wife: “Hey baby! My attraction to you is like diarrhea – I just can’t hold it in!”
Peacocks are large, colorful pheasants (typically blue and green) known for their iridescent tails. These tail feathers, or coverts, spread out in a distinctive train that is more than 60 percent of the bird’s total body length and boast colorful “eye” markings of blue, gold, red, and other hues. The large train is used in mating rituals and courtship displays. It can be arched into a magnificent fan that reaches across the bird’s back and touches the ground on either side. Females are believed to choose their mates according to the size, color, and quality of these outrageous feather trains. Peafowl are omnivorous and eat plant parts, flower petals, seed heads, insects and other arthropods, reptiles, and amphibians.

Courtesy Wikimedia here A kiss is the touching of one person’s lips to another place, which is used as an expression of affection, respect, greeting, farewell, good luck, romantic affection or sexual desire. The word comes from Old English cyssan “to kiss”, in turn from coss “a kiss”. / Kissing is a complex behavior that requires significant muscular coordination; a total of thirty-four facial muscles and 112 postural muscles are used during a kiss. The most important muscle involved is the orbicularis oris muscle, which is used to pucker the lips and informally known as the kissing muscle. In the case of the French kiss, the tongue is also an important part. Lips have many nerve endings so they are sensitive to touch and bite. In modern Western culture, kissing is most commonly an expression of affection. Between people of close acquaintance, a reciprocal kiss often is offered as a greeting or farewell. This kind of kiss is typically made by brief contact of puckered lips to the skin of the cheek or no contact at all, and merely performed in the air near the cheek with the cheeks touching. People may kiss children on the forehead to comfort them or the cheek to show affection, and vice versa. As an expression of romantic affection or sexual desire in Western culture, kissing involves two people pressing their lips together with an intensity of sexual feeling. A couple may open their mouths, suck on each other’s lips or move their tongues into each others’ mouths (see French kiss). / / Peasant kissing a soldier of the “Army of Liberation” on a Soviet propaganda poster issued after the joint Nazi-Soviet invasion of PolandIn Slavic cultures until recent times, kissing between two men on the lips as a greeting or a farewell was not uncommon and not considered sexual.Symbolic kissing is frequent in Western cultures. A kiss can be “blown” to another by kissing the fingertips and then blowing the fingertips, pointing them in the direction of the recipient. This is used to convey affection, usually when parting or when the partners are physically distant but can view each other. Blown kisses are also used when a person wishes to convey affection to a large crowd or audience. In written correspondence a kiss has been represented by the letter ‘X’ since at least 1763. A stage or screen kiss may be performed by actually kissing, or faked by using the thumbs as a barrier for the lips and turning so the audience is unable to fully see the act. In some Western cultures it is considered good luck to kiss someone on Christmas or on New Year’s Eve, especially beneath a sprig of mistletoe. AFTER MANY HOURS OF WAITING MY EAGLES MADE MY DAY, IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I EVER SAW ANY EAGLES GO THROUGH THEIR MATING RITUAL. THEY GOT ALL EXCITED NECKING THEN MADE LOVE QUICK AS A RABBIT. I MANAGED TO GET ALL THE ACTION BUT IT WAS PARTLY OBSTRUCTED BY A TREE LIMB. LOOKS LIKE IT WON`T BE LONG NOW EGGS ARE ON THEIR WAY. TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY.
This poor chap chased her up and down the wire but she just kept turning away. After about a half hour she finally snuggled up to him. / I am not sure what these birds are, they were black with grey heads.
I merged two shots for this image, one of a male Northern cardinal and one of a female cardinal, and then I applied the Orton effect to give it a more dreamy effect. Just experimenting and having fun!
Willets,(Catoptrophorus semipalmatus) large sandpiper of the interior West and the ocean beaches, are in a courting and mating process. The male is on the left. The Willet is known by its piercing calls and bright black-and-white flashing wings. It is the only North American sandpiper whose breeding range extends southward into the tropics. My husband Tommy spotted an owl in a tree as we were riding along the Lake Martin road so naturally we stopped to watch and take pictures. Moments later, a second owl lit on the branch and proceeded to tenderly “kiss” the first one’s face over and over again. They even kissed on the “lips” or rather beaks and then they both flew away. It was such a sweet encounter, one I was delighted to witness, and a great opportunity for me as I had never been able to photograph owls before this day. I think these may be barred owls; please correct me if I’m wrong. Thank you for taking a look at this photo and if you have time, please view larger.
