  • This photo was taken on yet another visit to the Oregon coast. I love it out there! Though often rainy, or spritzing, to me the OR coast is beautiful in any weather. This shot was captured as I was taking a morning walk on the beach. The ocean was calm, the sand wet, a bit of fog lay low on the horizon, and no one else was out there except an older couple walking together holding hands. There’s very little differentiation between the sky, sea and sand in this photograph, and the only thing that really stands out in contrast are the two figures of the couple. It looks, to me, as if they could walk on forever into the infinite distance and as if everything else fades around them when they are together.

  • My husband and I took a brief childless trip to the adults-only, all-inclusive Couples Negril in Jamaica last February. We ate a lot of tasty food, indulged in some adult beverages, went on a catamaran cruise, relaxed on the beach, and snorkeled – me for the first time! The grounds were lush and tropical, and the beautiful white sand beach was on a calm bay with turquoise water. And of course the sunsets were amazing! • This young couple was sleeping on a little island (seen in the background) and didn’t anticipate the fast tide coming in. It wasn’t long before they found themselves stranded and surrounded by water and extremely heavy fog. The girl was to afraid to walk, so he hoisted her on his shoulders, bringing her safely to shore, amid the cheers of the onlookers! / /
