The rolling countryside of Dorset, England
This was taken on a lake, at Oakbank, in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia, Australia. It was early morning, so there was still some mist around, on the lake. Tripod was used. There is nothing better than being up early on a cold winter’s day and being greeted with such a beautiful setting. A Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera was used. I took this because of the incredible light, mist and mood that it offered. It was also my husband and his sister bonding very early in the morning.

A thick ocean of mist slowly receeds revealing the Herefordshire and Worcestershire countryside below. The top grey line at the top of the mist is actually the ridge of the Cotswalds just peeking out above the white fog…...then the pinky sky just as the sun is about to rise over the ridge. Taken early October 2008 from the top of the Malvern Hills….often refered to as Tolkien’s Misty Mountains.

Young Holstein cows on top of a hill. Azores islands, Portugal. / This photo was awarded an Honorable Mention in Popular Photography & Imaging magazine 2005 Annual International Contest, and was later published in that magazine.
I know I’ve taken already quite a few shots of this stone building. But it really fascinates me and depending on the angle you take a photograph. You get to see another side to this lovely architecture. And yes, I have some more in my collection which I may upload once I find the time to work on them a little to bring out the best in them? This was taken with my Canon 5D and 24-105mm lens.

Sutton Bank is a high vantage point at the very edge of the Hambleton Hills and the North York Moors with extensive views over the Vale of York and the Vale of Mowbray. Because of its location and high elevation, Sutton Bank is popular with gliding and flying enthusiasts. Predominant landmarks include Whitestone Cliff and Roulston Scar, the former overlooking the mysterious (and reputedly bottomless !) Lake Gormire. Close nearby are the villages of Sutton-under-Whitestonecliff, and Kilburn (famous for the White Horse of Kilburn, and Robert Thompson – the “Mouseman” of Kilburn). / Sutton Bank is one of the most spectacular inland cliffs anywhere in Britain, and carries one of the most hair-raising main roads in the country. The near vertical drop from top to bottom is around 140 metres, and crosses at least two major geological boundaries. / The Sutton Bank National Park Centre is on the western edge of the fabulous North York Moors National Park – home to the largest expanse of heather moorland in England. It provides the perfect introduction to the National Park, its people, history and wildlife. Nikon D60 / HDR in Photomatix & pp in PS CS3 / Lens: Nikkor 18-200mm / 1/160 f/9.0 ISO200
