This is part of the decor of a cafe with sweet rustic charm at Chiang Mai, Thailand. I just love the different pieces of objects that they use to add such nostalgic feel to the whole place. did some colour editing here to give it an older dusty look.
Summer petunias draped over a vintage tricycle.
The gardens of Kingston Maurward. The beautiful gardens of Kingston Maurward have many surprises around every corner. This bench was for me better to look at than sit on. Lots of Shopping etc., done on this, but I like it – hope you do. Kingston Maurward House is a large Georgian English country house set in a 750 acre (3 square km) estate in Dorset situated in the Frome valley two miles east of Dorchester. The mansion was built by George Pitt, cousin of William Pitt the Elder, between 1717 and 1720. The mansion was originally in red brick, but after derogatory comments from King George III, Pitt clad the house in Portland limestone. Thomas Hardy lived nearby and later referred to Kingston Maurward House as “Knapwater House” in his novel Desperate Remedies. The grounds of Kingston Maurward are open to the public and include the farm areas and extensive gardens. Both the house and grounds are owned by Dorset County Council. Also in the grounds is Kingston Maurward Manor House, built in 1590, an earlier mansion – now a hotel.

I will donate 100% of proceeds from the sales of this image to The Wildlife Trusts Captured In town location Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. England. The Grey squirrel Grey squirrels were introduced to the UK from the USA in the late nineteenth/early twentieth century. Life span / Up to 9 years. Statistics / Head and body length: 23-30 cm, Tail length: 19-25cm, Weight (adult): 400-600g. Physical description / Grey squirrels are distinguished from red squirrels by their grey fur, smaller ear tufts and their larger, more robust build. Grey squirrels sit with their large bushy tail arched over the back. Distribution / They are widespread throughout England and Wales, south of Cumbria, and are common in local pockets in Scotland. They are absent from the rest of mainland Europe, except for small localised populations in Italy. Habitat / Common in deciduous and mixed woodland, they are also found in hedgerows, trees, parks and gardens. Diet / Grey squirrels feed on acorns, tree shoots, flowers, nuts, fruits, roots and cereals. They bury surplus food 2-5cm below the soil or in tree hollows. They feed at ground level, more so than red squirrels, and together with their ability to digest acorns, (which reds can’t), they have tended to displace red squirrels in areas of woodland where the two have come into contact. Behaviour / Grey squirrels live in a compact, spherical nest (drey), 30-60cm in diameter, with an outer frame of twigs, and dry leaves and grass inside. They are diurnal, active from before sunrise to after sunset. The peak of activity is in the autumn. Their range covers 2-10 hectares. Reproduction / Females produce a litter of usually three young in the spring or late summer (or occasionally both), after a gestation period of 42-45 days. The young are weaned after 10 weeks and are independent at 16 weeks.
This is a place I go by when I take the back road to the apple orchard. I love the set up there.
All Saints Anglican Church graces the small West Australian country town of Nannup, buried away in the far south west some 400 kms from Perth. This town has long been a favourite of ours and during the 1980’s and 1990’s we took the photos at both the District High School and the Kindergarten most years. / The immediate surrounding countryside is mostly forest but this gives way to delightful rolling hills and beautiful rural views the further east you head. To the west – and about 50 kms away – is the popular seaside town of Busselton, on Geographe Bay

Some of these old barns can be pretty in an ugly kind of way. Old tree made pic , spooky looking , probably an old willow tree of some sort , looked like a giant spider web hanging all over it.
I took this picture in the Engadine region of Switzerland. (Graubunden). It is a beautiful alpine land. Photo caption with a samsung camera / Monica Engeler August 2009.
