Possibly one of the most charismatic tree’s I have ever seen, it’s at a place called Batesford which is West of Geelong. Standing next to it overlooking the landscape at sunrise or sunset is something quite special, a bit like hanging with an old friend lol

This is exactly how it looked in 1989. The ivy stays here year round. It’s weird, because it’s barren outside; winter. But when you step inside (which isn’t hard..you simply step through the wall) it looks like a summer day. Very odd & surreal feeling. I was coming home yesterday from an appointment downtown, / and happened to look over and see this place. It was completely / abandoned, along with garages, a barn and cars. Didn’t go in, (yet..heh) but I got a few good shots from the front. I added the flood..(to go with the title.) / / CS3/Corel/handheld/Samsung/HDR / I can’t even begin to list all of the things I did to this. / One filter conversion to the next applying and painting certain areas with the saturation brush, then repeating the process + / overlays & more fine tuning! I took this shot today while I was at Enniskillen Orchard in the Grose Vale region of the Hawkesbury district.. / The orchard is located on the Sydney Farm Gate Trail. It is a wonderful place and the nostalgic country-style shed really sets the scene for an orchard.. / Hopefully one day soon I will get the opportunity to photograph some of the wonderful sights that can be found in the orchard itself.. / I would definitely have to encourage anyone passing through, or living in, the Hawkesbury to drop in and try some of the local produce, it is a great place.. / I couldnt really think of a title for this one so any suggestions would be great, and as usual comments are more then welcome :) / Thanks for having a look!! Mother nature presented me on a last October evening with one of those sunsets that you can hope to see just once a year if you’re lucky. / High layers of scattered clouds, a pure, clean atmosphere and the fact that at the end of october the twilight lasts almost a hour, all this elements contributed in producing a stunning natural show. This is the Po River near to Carignano in Piedmont, Italy. I hope you enjoy it, thanks for dropping by. Paolo

As soon as I came across this lone lamb, I was reminded of the old hymn by Ira Sankey, based on Matthew 18:13…. The Ninety and Nine. The saying “red sky in the morning, shepherd’s warning. Red sky at night, shepherd’s delight” was very true and evident this particular day, at Staughton Vale, near Geelong. / The same warning was also spoken of by Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew, in the Bible, centuries ago. Matthew 16:1-3 The Pharisees and Sadducees Seek a Sign 1 Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven. 2 He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; 3 and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times. /

Captured in rural Boulder County, Colorado….let me just say this was honest to God unbelievable to photograph. I had to handhold these shots because of my bum knee and well, the lightning was going crazy right above me. But I managed to get some dang nice shots off. This being one of them. I am really happy with this one, I debated about a square crop, but in the end I figured why the heck not, nothing ventured, nothing gained, right folks? Rural northern Boulder County, Colorado Honest to God above, this was utterly amazing….I can’t really find the wards to describe the whole scene to you all but I will try my best. I had to handhold this, along with the other shots to come, my knee is totally kaput so using a tripod was pretty much out of the question, however that isn’t the only reason…as we were shooting last evening, the lightning was all over the place, and well there were times when I wanted to grab it and try, but thought better of it lol Tripods make for great Lightning conductors! lol The clouds were just insane, and I mean really crazy, this storm went severe dropping reports of funnel clouds to the north east of us and hail as well. It passed over our heads, but sure made for some utterly incredible atmospheric shots! So you take that, a Sunflower field the size of a small state, the sunset, a country road, and the foothills and mountains as a backdrop, and friends, you have quite a scene you will NEVER forget! Featured in Cottage Style / Featured in “Old Things – 3 per Day” We recently visited some dear friends who were living in Painswick, Gloucestershire, in England. Originally from America, they have lived in England for short periods of time (3 or 4 years) due to work. This was our last visit to their little cottage home in the lovely village, as they have now moved back to the states, but they are already planning to move back as soon as possible. We have enjoyed our frequent trips to visit them and this lovely old cottage. The cottage dates back almost 300 years (sometime in the 1700’s) and is a feature of the well known Tibbiwell Lane. It is as beautiful inside as it is outside. This door front scene was used as a magazine/catalogue cover for the company Scotts of Stow, and countless visitors to the village have taken photos of this beautiful and historic home. The property used to be two separate cottages but were combined at some unknown date. Please do click on the photo to view larger and please enjoy. This is a HDR image combining 6 bracketed shots using Photomatix Pro for Macs. Slight adjustments in lighting and tone were done using the enhanced details tool. Best on Full Size Although the day started out pretty dismally, the sun eventually came out at The Keystone State – Pennsylvania shoot at Old Bedford Village, Bedford, Pennsylvania, October 24, 2009. I took this image inside one of the many reconstructed buildings on site as the skies were going from rainy to sunny. Camera used was the tripod-mounted Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens, uv filter attached. Shutter was 1/2, aperture f/32, iso 640. Post processing included HDR from a single image, duplicated twice to evals of +/-2 in Photoshop. Light Orton and textures applied as well.

Featured Photo in Eric and Jen’s Eyes group for the week of 11/21 thru 11/28/09 Best on Full Size it really is When I first began taking photography seriously … and believe me, as much as I joke around, I do take it seriously … someone gave me a wonderful bit of advice: “always turn around.” And in the case of this particular image, it couldn’t have been more wise. I had been chasing the “sunlight-through-autumn leaves” look all that afternoon … and without a whole lot of success, I might add. At one point, I happened to glance back over my shoulder and snap this image … and a couple more for good measure, of course. But it wasn’t until I got home and loaded it up that I realized how much I liked it. Hope you do too. Image taken off of Church Road, Howard County, Maryland. Handheld image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens, uv filter … not sure if the cp filter was on or not. Shutter 1/250, aperture f/8.0, exp. -0.33, iso 320. Cloning of evil telephone pole and wires then off to Photomatix with three images at +/-2 evals, then back to Photoshop for a light, light Orton and a hint of texture.
