The rolling hills of Gippsland with sheep and cows grazing.
The Strezlecki ranges in Gippsland, well known for its dairy products.
I was driving along side some of the many paddocks that frequent my area (the Hawkesbury area) when I came across this cow, the light seemed to be pretty decent and seeing as how the cow was a few metres away I decided it would be a good opportunity to test out my new 55-200mm lens.. / The cow just would not look at me (unusual for a cow) and then finally it decided to sneak a glance so I snapped the shutter and this was the result.. / Post processing involved adjusting the exposure, contrast and levels, and then applying a vignette and a monochrome filter. / I havent uploaded anything for quite some time so I decided to throw this image to the wind and see if it flies or crashes and burns.. / As per usual comments and critiquing are more than welcome, and thanks very much for taking a look! From the Northern tip of Labrador down to the eastern coast of Newfoundland, the sea that pounds and caresses these shores is nicknamed Iceberg Alley. Bergs born 10,000 years ago on the Greenland icecap dance along the coast and far out to sea, propelled unpredictably by wind and tide, tumbling, twirling, and breaking into fantastic shapes before melting in the warm waters of the gulf stream. / / An iceberg’s journey down Iceberg Alley begins once it breaks off from the edges of Greenland’s glaciers. Dropping into the ocean, it is gripped by the Labrador Current and carried through the dark ocean along the coasts of Newfoundland and Labrador. In the past, during certain times of the year, the alley has been thick with the largest and most beautiful icebergs found anywhere in the world. They glide majestically along, alone or in groups, obscuring the horizon with their tall, jagged silhouettes. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / / More in this series / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography

Found this little beauty in a farm in the Numinbah Valley, Queensland, Australia. Beautiful country scenery in this area, and looks to be locked in time in the early 1900’s.. I image this to be the shack of a farm hand at some stage. I doubt it’s still habitable, although the oranges just outside the door would make for good lunches! The white in the background are clouds, the rainy day made for lots of low cloud! Canon 50D, 60mm, 16:9 crop, 60% desaturation. I quite liked the old photo theme with this shot, hense the desaturate. Available Large, and best viewed Large!
