I am concerned that the hamster which drives the redbubble wheel has had a little too much festive cheer. Today I opened my portfolio to check on how many views my work has had on Christmas day, to my surprise my latest work Lancashire Sunset / has had 1819 views in 24 hours. Now I realise how magnificent a shot it is but I find it hard to believe that so many people have viewed it in such a short time. It could possibly be an employee of the England tourist board trying to put my image at the top of all the popular charts but I dont think they work Christmas Day, Boxing Day maybe when the holiday and furnature sales start in earnest but not Christmas day. I was led to believe that the more views / comments and favouritings a work gets the higher it goes up the popular list and this does seem to be true. So my shot should be on top of those lists if the figures are to be believed and it isn’t. My conclusion is that the poor hamster which treadles around keeping the redbubble machine purring has had its drinking water laced with the strong stuff (probably by some junior bubble employee at the annual Christmas party) and has stored his nuts somewhere in the workings and sent the bubble counter crazy. I would like to know if anybody else has noticed this phenomena or maybe it is just me, or perhaps the count is a true indication and the hamster is innocent.

I just got this email from a friend and felt I needed to share it with you all… (NOTE: There are several herbal and organic SAFE remedies for fleas and other problems for both cats and dogs! Please see the bottom of this entry for links to online shops.) I found my (normally very healthy) cat today moving erratically in my basement, kind of staring into a corner. Dad confirmed that there was something wrong with him.. so we called the vet and she said that it sounded like he was having minor seizures(he probably had a bigger one earlier when we weren’t around, as we found vomit around his mouth and on his paws and vomiting goes hand-in-hand with seizures). On the way to the vet’s I mentioned that the flea medication, BioSpot, that my mom had applied a few days ago might be the cause. Lo and behold when the vet saw the greasy residue left on the back of my cat’s neck and confirmed that it was BioSpot, she told us that it was definitely the culprit. She said this happens ALL OF THE TIME with cats a day or so after BioSpot has been applied(it can happen in dogs too but apparently not as much). It works by being absorbed into the hair follicles and then spreads throughout the whole body. It’s a lot cheaper than the prescription stuff, but we bought it at PetSmart(a leading pet retailer) so we of course assumed there would be no risk. But I guess they (like so many other huge companies) are just out for an easy buck, because when you see websites like hartzvictims.org that have reported THOUSANDS of cases of cats seizing/dying from this products, you’d think they would be more aware of the problem. I’m sitting in my room, watching my poor cat still slightly convulsing on the bed. We’ve bathed him of course, and the vet has given him shots and medication for a month. He is slightly responsive to movement and petting. We have to monitor him for 3 days(and give him a bath every day for a week), and if he’s better after that he’ll probably pull through. It’s up in the air now. So horrible to see him like this. I have already contacted the local petsmart and talked to the manager, and will contact corporate when they are available. I have also emailed our local paper in the hopes that they will alert the public about this…and now I’m informing you guys! Spread the word…protect your animals… do NOT use BioSpot(or any other OOC flea medication). hartzvictims.org (hartz is the company under which biospot is sold) elversonpuzzle.com (about a dog’s reaction to it) Online Stores for Herbal and/or Natural Pet Remedies Only Natural Pet Store (where I personally shop) Drs. Hi everyone, I’m back in Melbourne after a few weeks holidaying in the USA. I had an awesome trip and already miss the nice warm weather. I have uploaded a few shots from my trip to RB with probably a few more to come over the coming days. Over night my view counter ticked over 80,000 which is more views than I ever could have hoped for, I suppose that’s the beauty about online galleries that anyone anywhere in the world can look at your work! This is one of the more interesting things I saw on my trip in the USA, a rat on a cat on a dog! My favourite image from my trip so far is San Francisco Days My most popular image in my photostream is still very much Hosier Lane with almost 200 comments over 100 favourites and over 5500 views. I suppose I don’t really have a favourite image, I think that’s like preferring one child over another! I just hope I can keep learning and improving and keep taking inspiration from the wonderful people on redbubble.

  • Keeping track of groups rules and more

Here is a way to keep track of groups rules and have them close at hand or mouse click when uploading images to redbubble. Maybe one day this type of feature will be incorporated in the redbubble web site but until then you can use this method of keeping track of all you groups rules. This Time saver works mainly for FireFox users but can be used with Internet Explorer with limited capabilities. You can get Firefox below if you like. / First you need to create a file that will have all your groups rules in them this may be the time consuming part. Open notepad / On windows XP , click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Notepad or if you are using the redbubble toolbar with the notepad shortcut click that / Open Notepad in Vista by clicking the Start button, click Programs, then click Accessories, and then Notepad. Now add all your groups rules…. I edit the rules to make them as short as possible When you are done save the file by clicking the ‘file’ menu then select ‘save as’ put the file somewhere you will remember it’s location for future editing… / I saved mine as ‘Group Rules’ Now I am going to split this into two separate sections If you are using Internet Explorer Scroll down to those instructions. / FIREFOX Step 1 Create a “New Folder” on the “Bookmark Toolbar” / To do this right click the bookmarks toolbar and select “New Folder” / name it “Notepad Files” or what ever you wish then click “Add” / If you do not see the toolbar right click the toolbar area and select the “bookmarks toolbar” / Step 2 Open “Notebook” (on your PC) / Step 3 In Notepad click “File” then select “Open” / Step 4 Find the file you want to access from your toolbar do not open it just Drag and drop the file in the folder you created in step 1 / Drag and drop all files you wish to have quick access to and your done. Using the Links / Step 1 Click the “Notepad Files” folder in the toolbar / Step 2 Right click the file you want to use select “Open in New Tab” or you can hold the “Ctrl”(control) key and left click / This will open the text file in a Firefox Tab you can reference your group rules whithout having to go to each group to jog your memory of what the rules are. Firefox Bonus Right click the link you created and click properties in the menu then select the box next to the text / “Load this bookmark in sidebar” then click “save changes” / Doing this will open the notepad file in a little window next to the page you are on. / Internet Explorer Step 1 Click “Favorites” then “Organize Favorites” in the file menu / Step 2 In the window that pops up click the “Links” folder then click “New Folder” / name it Notepad files or what ever you like and press enter. Now select “close” / Step 3 Open “Notebook” (on your PC) / Step 4 In Notepad click “File” then select “Open” / Step 5 Find the file you want to access from your toolbar do not open it just Drag and drop the file in the folder you created in step 2 / Drag and drop all files you wish to have quick access to and your done. Using the Links / Step 1 Open a new tab (Short cut press “CTRL+T”) / Step 2 Click the “Notepad Files” folder on the toolbar and select the notepad file you want to open. / or Click “Favorites” on the file menu the folder labeled “Links” has the “Notepad Files” folder we created in step 2 above. / You can use this for other things that you use a lot / EXAMPLE: If you have a default description or links that you post on all your images lets say copyright information you can create one with that text on it then with a few clicks you can copy and paste it into your new image description….I am sure there are more uses for this as I use it for all sorts of stuff that I do not want to type over and over when adding images… / ATTN: Group Host/Co-Host if your group uses banners you can create a file with all the codes for the banners in a separate file and open that one when needed and don’t forget the link to the features section of your groups so you can feature images the easy way(see this Tutorial) Hope this Helps / Happy Bubbling / Dan Get the Firefox and Internet Explorer Tool bar for Redbubble Here / See more info See more How-to’s by D R Moore Includes “Framed image on Bubblesite home page”, “Adding Calendars to your bubblesite”, “feedjit Live Traffic Feed”, “Using tags on Redbubble”, “Add a visitor counter to your bubblesite or profile page” and More Please don’t Copy and paste this written work as that would really hurt my feelings :) / you can copy the link below and paste it if you would like to share with others on Redbubble / "Keeping track of groups rules and more(by D R Moore)":http://www.redbubble.com/people/envelope150/journal/4423572-keeping-track-of-groups-rules-and-more / or on the web / Keeping track of groups rules and more /
