  • It is said to be rumored that this mysterious women has been seen, on occasion, to be standing at the ocean’s front. She appears to be looking out to the ocean as if she is waiting for someone to return home. It is also rumored that a very long time ago, a man lived in this little cottage with his beautiful wife. One day, he left out on a fishing boat, which is how he earned his living… only to never return. Some say ….it is his wife who appears on this shoreline from time to time….still clad in her antique-type dress and clutching her black umbrella. / Done in Rembrandt pastels on Strathmore, Bristol, vellum finished , heavy weight and acid free paper. 8×10 Pastel Sketch / /

  • 5 cards sold Watercolor Painting, 140lb Montval paper 14”x18” / I’ve always considered my self lucky. I grew up in a family of ten kids and we had a wonderful house build by my grandfather. We were far from being rich in income, but my mom and dad really worked hard to give us what we needed. But when we went to the lake cottage in the summer time, I felt like the richest girl in town. I feel so blessed that I had that life. We swam all day and rowed our little boats on the hunt for turtles and climbed grassy hills to slide down on cardboard. It was a life that people dream of. / This painting is of one of the islands we could see from our cottage. It was one of 4, Dollar, Quarter, Penny and this was Nickel Island. I remember there used to be a dime, but it slowly sank and washed away. All of the rest are still there. / What a life we had living in our sweet little cottage on Big Cedar Lake, Wisconsin! /

  • From the poem by Paul Dunbar. “Now the old place is deserted, / And the walls are falling down; / All who made the home life cheerful, / Now have died or moved to town. / But about that dear old cottage / Shall my mem’ries ever cling, / For ‘twas there I spent the moments / Of my youth,—lifes happy spring.” Interior of the Davis Homestead – Pokapu, Kawakawa. / Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ7. Mayo, Ireland / Cottage was used in the movie with John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara This day there was a gorgeous rainbow above the cottage, I took the shot from the river, in front of the fence. • This photo is straight from the camera, it’s AS IS! This is another shot I took of the lovely cottage near to the village of Greesley in Watnall,Nottinghamshire, England. Just simply widening out the shot and pulling in the gate and old sign post, and more of the lovely autumnal colours crowning the trees and bushes to the left, the scene take on a whole new level of character. I love the lush green field next to the small Woodpit Cottage, and the warm sunlight from the late autumn sun low in the sky. There is a warmth to this lovely place which is why I so wanted to capture its essence. I could spend hours here, embraced by the fragrance of the countryside, and the wood burning fire. The long shadows blanket creation. / The rabbits burrow back in their homes. / The hedgerows comfort the birds, snuggled in their nests / and the hedgehogs curled beneath the quilt of autumn leaves. / What warm glow remains now starts to fade / Whilst the moon begins its silvery keep through the night. / Autumn is now falling asleep for a long nap / For the morning will bring Winter’s watch.
