  • Help Protect Australia From Errorism! Every piece of misinformation helps “these” people… A very old protest design, or rather bricolage (i.e. relexively appropriated design) I had in one of the student uni newspapers some years ago… There is a seperate design for black t-shirts – check it out by clicking on my designer name…

  • Character reference from PK to Peter Costello. Hilarious!

  • Elvis Costello Oil on canvas 12×24 inches

  • The sky didn’t know what to do and the water patiently waited for it to decide. / Burlington, Ontario – Lake Ontario

  • Sitting in a closed door meeting at this software company that shall remain nameless, in order to stay awake I often doodle. This came out of one of those meetings. Elvis Costello in ink on line paper.

  • Completed 4th December, 2008 / Graphite Pencils 2H, HB, 2B, 6B on Reeves White Paper A3

  • This young German Shepherd, named Fuzzy, was just over two when I was commissioned to do this portrait. He was a scary dog that was tearing at the fence to get to us but he was oddly afraid of my camera. When I got it out he ran and hid! It took a zoom lens to photograph him for this portrait. This is a graphite sketch on 11” x 14” 400series medium 80lb. drawing paper and took me one evening to do. Created by Linda Costello Hinchey of SW Virginia. This commission is used for our poster/print and is exclusively from the fine art studios of CHSTUDIOS.NET from a portrait commission. / —-—-—-—-— / Featured in… / Cats and Dogs Challenges: / Cats & Dogs- Top Ten Challenge Oct ‘09

  • “When they reached the end of the room he stopped, and muttered some words she could not understand. She opened her eyes, and saw the wall slowly fading away like a mist, and a great black cavern in front of her. A bitter cold wind swept round them, and she felt something pulling at her dress. “Quick, quick,” cried the Ghost, “or it will be too late,” and, in a moment, the wainscoting had closed behind them, and the Tapestry Chamber was empty.”~ Oscar Wilde / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / Personally, I think this is one of my best paintings. It certainly is a favorite. I think it’s my favorite because it’s a rarity for me to paint with this much color and looseness. My typical work is realism, tonal, and with a sculptural quality. Why did I paint this so differently? I think it was that glass of wine I had… Anyway, I’m proud of it because this style (prior to this painting) is not easy for me… It’s amazing what folks can discover about themselves if given the chance… I don’t recall the dimensions of this particular painting but I do know that it is done in oils and the piece was quite large…. about an 3’ x 2’. It was done from several sketches and photos supplied by the client. The client was very pleased to have this work displayed as an example of one of many figure paintings and sketches created by Virginia Appalachian artist, Linda Costello Hinchey This image is used for our poster/print and is exclusively from the fine art studios of CHSTUDIOS.NET from a portrait commission. / FEATURED IN: / All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical

  • Photograph taken by Linda Costello Hinchey on a glaring bright wintery day here in the Appalachian Mnts of Virginia. I was just certain none of my shots would turn out because it was so bright. But, as luck would have it… And even better, you can even see tiny little snowflakes mixed with her old grey beard. This image is used for our poster/print and is exclusively from the fine art studios of CHSTUDIOS.NET from a portrait commission. This is a formally rescued black & white Border Collie and Australian Shepherd mix. R.I.P. sweet Crowe Bird. • This image is, technically, not a black and white image but was shot in the middle of a snow storm in SW Virginia, deep in the Appalachian Mountains. It was actually taken in the middle of the day during one of the heaviest snow falls, I’ve witnessed. I really wished I had a waterproof camera for that day. I honestly thought it was just too, dark for any photos to turn out. It was coming down so thick that I decided to take one quick shot and get back under the porch. I was thrilled with the result. It’s one of those photos that makes me happy when I look at it. Photographed by CHStudios. This image is exclusively from the fine art studios of CHSTUDIOS.NET. • A kiss before he leaves for work… Some look at our law enforcement and simple say, “That’s there job.” They put their lives on the line and have so much to sacrifice. And they are loved by so many. It’s hard to give them a kiss each day before they walk out that door. A police chief from a small town in southwest Virginia. I plan to do an oil painting from this particular photograph. • “I don’t ask for the meaning of the song of a bird or the rising of the sun on a misty morning. There they are, and they are beautiful.”~ Pete Hamill Taken in the late summer in the early morning in the Appalachian Mountains of Southwest Virginia. If your wondering what that is in the road, it’s my dog, Jakers (a Foxhound mix) who was taking a snooze and refused to move for the shot. smiles Often times in these mountains the only sun you will see rising is what is trying to burn through the heavy mist… Top Ten Challenges: / BARNS & Old Grist Mills and Covered Bridges from around the World!-Winner of the ‘09 Nov., A BARN & LANDSCAPE scene Challenge Best from Around the Barnyard- ‘09 November Avatar Challenge Featured in: / Dilapidated Buildings / Playful Photogenic Animals-Nov 09

  • I’m not making it up folks, this is what this caterpillar is called. It’s a gentle giant, said to be the largest in North American and somewhat of a rarity. Unfortunately, this image doesn’t give a good idea of the actual size. It can grow up to six inches in length and ¾ of an inch in diameter. We found this one here in the Appalachian Mountains of Southwest Virginia. This caterpillar is larva to the Giant Silk moth known as the Regal Moth …also known as the Royal Walnut Moth. / I’m thankful to have gotten chance to photograph such an unusual creature. In all my years I’ve lived here in the mountains, this is a first for me! It was near a Walnut tree that we discovered this big beauty. / Taken for a possible painting project by L.Costello Hinchey, www.chstudios.net FEATURED IN: / APPALACHIAN ARTISTS

  • This is Doc Emmett. It’s interesting because he doesn’t look much different in sepia than he does in true colors! He is a rescue who is living happily now in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia. Yes, he is obviously a mutt, but we are not sure what he is mixed with. Perhaps, Parson’s Jack Russell and Maltese? Whatever it is, it’s cute! He was given this name appropriately after Doc Emmett Brown of Back To The Future. A little story about Doc. We traveled to Tenn. to adopt a dog (Skittles) and when we got there I sat down on the couch and Doc jumped in my lap… my three children walked in and then my husband… Doc promptly jumped up and bit my hubby on the shoe and took it right off him! It was hysterical! The lady said, “Oh, no! I’m guessing you won’t be adopting today????” I said, “I wouldn’t leave without either!!!” He truly is a character. / This photograph is from the CHStudios (www.chstudios.net). • This is a stray cat that came to live on our farm in Poor Valley, Virginia. She doesn’t mind hunting in the barn but would rather be laying on the window sill in our home, unlike her short-haired mother who would rather stay in the barn hunting mice. This was take with my Canon EOS REBEL XSi w/ 55mm lens. • Mom is caught here making her pup behave. I shot this at a car show event. These dogs were fantastically beautiful so I decided to steal a few quick shots when my children asked the owners if they could pet the puppy and when my daughter reached down to pet him he barked right in her face! In an instant this is what happened! Mom correct her naughty son with a gently bite to the nose. / This was taken in Abingdon, Va. / Top Ten Challenges: / Man’s Best Friend- Secrets Challenge (caught in the act)
