This fractal image was created in Apophysis 2.06c 3D hack using some methods that I have been experimenting with recently. An interesting fact is that the texture of my image comes from a transform that uses the julian and disc variations and then was lowered out of the image using z translate, so this variation is not actually seen in the final image, but without it there wouldn’t really be a texture. The second transform which is the actual “fabric” comes from a combination of bubble, pre_blur, rectangles, oscilloscope, bipolar and hemisphere. And the last transform simply uses bubble and pre_blur with a bit of z translate to put it in the correct space. No post or final transforms were used. And, here’s a bit of me that’s reverting to my good old physics/astronomy (Gotta love physics!): According to Einstein, space itself can be thought to be like a fabric. Imagine placing a bowling ball on the surface of a mattress. The bowling ball will cause the mattress to dip downwards where it is touching. Imagine this bowling ball to be the Sun now. The planets go around in their ever widening circles because of the way that the Sun is effecting space. In my picture above, you can see the curving of the space around the sphere. But also, what happens to the sphere if space itself is fractured? Will the sphere sink downwards through the fabric? That is a question that I had once, and I suspect it will be a long time until there is an answer for it.
oil on canvas – for physics and metaphysics majors, and laymen who enjoy thinking about imponderables. Einstein thought that the universe could be precisely described. His view is on the right. Heisenberg thought that you could never exactly describe the universe, and that in some cases an object could actually exist at two places at the same time. His theory is on the left. Since all is flux, the observer might be impartial, but today he is partial. Like an IMAX theater, if you experience dizziness or nausea, just turn your head and the feeling should subside! this is a vision / a dream / my dreamtime / i have been drawing/painting this “serpent” / all my life / it revolves around me and i around it / is this a key to a door ? / lost inside me / echoes of blake are woven into this mythology
Since time immemorial, the Way to the Tjukurritja (Dreamtime) has been maintained and honoured through various rites-of-passage, and an ensuing disciplined life that revolved around necessary sacred ritual. Instructions from the “agents” (Ancestral Beings) of the Kurrunpa (the life force in all), were entrusted to the initiated; the enlightened, and the custodial. Often, these “messianic-like” people, living within the context of their societies and respective territories, were referred to as “people of High Esteem” … the medicine wo/men and Law men of their respective communities. With the advent and embracing of the Agricultural; Industrial; Scientific and Techno-logical Ages respectively, coupled with the spread of the resultant “Lost Tribes” and colonisation, the demise of knowledge-enabled aboriginal peoples of this world is now upon us. Some of the essential elements of Tjukurritja Tjukurrpa (Dreamtime Story) have survived in the newer societies, though much is lost through the tyranny of distance, erosion, eradication, exploitation, and the evolvement and enforcement of earth-bound time. Even though there have been many attempts to encapsulate and explain the Tjukurritja’s vitalness in definitive terms, the Dreamtime has evaded contemporary analysis and continues to elude the intelligentsia and the selfish “seekers” of the civilised world. ~ Excerpted from my short essay Before Its Gone

i just found out something really astonishing. i am fascinated with physics and cosmology and all things scientific. for a layperson, there aren’t too many theories that i haven’t, at the very least, read about or heard mentioned on tv. i’m just an uneducated science buff, if that makes sense. / but today, i found out that one of the major problems with the big bang theory, initially, was that none of the light particles (that should rightly still be goofing around in space even now) from that most important of all events could be detected. long story slightly less long….they finally figured out that the light waves had been streeeetched out into radio waves. so, as a result of that, you can tune your television to an empty, static-filled channel and about 1% of the static you see and hear is part of the Cosmic Microwave Background. CMB is stretched out light waves “directly from the beginning of the universe”. uh. / WOW. i am fascinated with this stuff because if you pay enough attention to all concentrations of science/physics, archaeology, psychology, world religions, history, etc. you begin to get a ‘sense’ of something inexplicable. a kind of togetherness or singularity between yourself and every single thing in existence. it is overwhelmingly liberating but frankly, it is also a bit creepy if you let your mind wander as i do mine.
M13 his an easy to observe globular cluster in Hercules. It is the most brilliant visible from the north hemisphere. At this time you can see almost at the zenith (I’m at almost 45° N). You can see it with a simple binocular. You will recognize it by the two surrounding star which form an isosceles triangle with it. Their are the two most brilliant star on my photo. / Yesterday, M13 was on the APOD with almost the framing as me but way better quality ! 9 exposures of 3 minutes on a too short night of June. The worst autoguiding session.Canon EOS 350D on 150/750 Newtonian telescope (f=750mm F/5). Overload EQ5 equatorial mount.
I had to work up the courage to post this. It took me three days to create: 5 fractals, 3 photo images, and 2 digital paintings all layered. If it were made of real paint, I’d be drenched and this room I’m in would look like the color wheel blew up. Last night I loved the piece too much; this morning I changed it and I love it “enough.” / I’m discovering that loving an image too much means that I can’t see it for what it is…..and isn’t. I can’t assess its completeness or its direction or its readiness to face the world. Now it’s done. I love it enough to accept it and stand behind it. It’s part of me today, not more than what I am. Anyway, I love thinking about wormholes and trying to see them in my mind. And sometimes I imagine how things would be if two of them gently collided, trying to occupy the same “place” at one time. I like to think they’d say “Oh, excuse me!” and then become good neighbors. /
“Love in Inner Space” Soulmate is a term sometimes used to designate someone with whom one has a feeling of deep and natural affinity, love, intimacy, sexuality, spirituality, and/or compatibility. A related concept is that of the twin flame or twin soul – which is thought to be the ultimate soulmate, the one and only other half of one’s soul, for which all souls are driven to find and join. Some people believe that souls are literally made and/or fated to be the mates of each other, or to play certain other important roles in each other’s lives. ~ Conventional and “corny” perhaps, yet I have my reason for this well worn tune. Also an experimentation with different paint, layers, and blending (post-processing work). Colour Defn: Purple is royalty. A mysterious colour, purple is associated with both nobility and spirituality. The opposites of hot red and cool blue combine to create this intriguing colour. Purple is the colour of good judgment. It is the color of people seeking spiritual fulfillment. It is said if you surround yourself with purple you will have peace of mind. Purple is a good colour to use in meditation.

Trying something new: took an old fractal that was languishing in the files and used it as a base layer to re-structure and paint…added some texture from a photo image…..then edited. Photoshop Elements 3.

The Flower of Life, an ancient symbol used throughout many cultures- in art, architecture, mathematical pursuits, spiritual traditions and cosmology. From Wikipedia: / “The Flower of Life is the modern name given to a geometrical figure composed of multiple evenly-spaced, overlapping circles, that are arranged so that they form a flower-like pattern with a sixfold symmetry like a hexagon. The center of each circle is on the circumference of six surrounding circles of the same diameter. It is considered to be a symbol of sacred geometry, depicting the fundamental forms of space and time. It is a visual expression of the connections life weaves through all sentient beings” / Learn more at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flower_of_Life
