”...in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:52 Mark Lawrence, 1 Corinthians 15:52 Painting with Light Verse Visions, 2007. Painting With Light / This painting has been rendered with a unique technique that “paints” the picture using the selected Bible verse text as the paintbrush. You are seeing the verse painted imperceptibly millions of times repeatedly across the canvas! The final result is a picture that perhaps God first used to catch your eye, and then used to touch and encourage your heart.

“I will very gladly spend and be spent for you” 2 Corinthians 12:15 The main characteristic of love is giving unselfishly. In this verse Paul was longing to impart some spiritual gift to new Christians. Once the gift of grace has been received from us by the Holy Spirit we begin to see that Jesus cares about all people individually. He wants to share this concern for others through us, His children. Yet how easy it is for me to only care about those who can help me, or who care for me. Paul lived a life of sacrifice and surrendered even his own life to serve Jesus. He did this because he knew his Lord, and he loved him with all that he had. Father God, please help me to selflessly devote my life in complete service to others through my Lord Jesus to whom I owe all things This painting was inspired by the moving devotions penned and published by Oswald Chambers in the early 1900’s. ”We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord” / 2 Corinthians 5:8 God’s Spirit can guide and teach us through his word in such surprising ways. When God sends a message to us through scripture it is never by accident. In Isaiah 55:11, God says that wherever He sends His word it never returns empty, but always achieves the special purpose for which it was sent. Prayerfully consider the verse that inspired this painting and know that the Mighty God of all the heavens has reached out to touch you this moment. VerseVisions is a contemporary art ministry whose purpose is to share the love and message of God to all people through art and scriptural words of encouragement. The Journey Home, 2 Corinthians 5:8.
