The Queen Victoria Building in Sydney – lovely copper-tops. This building was once sheduled for demolition until it found new life as an expensive place to shop.

As I work on ideas for a show that is a long passionate exercise in printmaking, photography and sculpture, I want to share some of the images along the way. Not knowing what the end picks will be, maybe this will not be in the show 2010 or 11. This is one of my present favorites.

Multi-function meets art! My Service Series is created from reclaimed wood, as I found these wooden trays on the side of the road (about 100 of them!), and thought wow these would make excellent serving trays! I have always been service oriented and the hostess with the mostess always looking for a new serving tray, but I could never find one that really spoke to me, so now I’ve made my own. Service Series: Pincurl Girls / Mixed Media (latex and acrylic artists colors on reclaimed wood with copper pipes and cabinet handles added) / 2009 / $675
