This amazing shot was taken on my way up to the Sugar Loaf mountain off Rio De Janeiro. Copacabana beach is in the background. RIo De Janeiro, Brazil.
This shot was taken in Copacabana in 2006, a little town in the north of Bolivia, situated on the bank of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world at 3800 mts. / There was a big celebration in town that day and so much to see and discover. But I was so tired that I decided to sit down and rest for a while when those two men sat just in front of me. I took so many pictures of them but this one is my favorite. Click /

A panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro from Corcovado overlooking Sugar Loaf. The weather was somewhat cloudy and foggy when I took the shot, and I love the way how the landline across the bay recedes in the fog. / / Some of my other work: / / / © Kuntal Daftary
As a treat for my girlfriend’s Birthday (big treat for me too) whilst on holiday in Brazil I booked a short helicopter flight around Rio. Of the places I have been lucky enough to visit, the geography of Rio De Janeiro is one of my favourites.

Pop Art is a visual art movement that emerged in the mid 1950s in Britain and in parallel in the late 1950s in the United States. Pop Art challenged tradition by asserting that an artist’s use of the mass produced visual commodities of popular culture is contiguous with the perspective of Fine Art since Pop removes the material from its context and isolates the object, or combines it with other objects, for contemplation. The concept of Pop Art refers not as much to the art itself as to the attitudes that led to it.
5am. / I love this time of day.
Copacabana, Bolivia, March 2009
A refreshiing break before working back on the stall with her father…. Copacabana, Bolivia / It might share the same name with the famous Brazilian city, but Copacabana Bolivia couldn’t be more different. It has none of the glitz and glamour of Rio, but instead offers small town charm in a place where the locals are both welcoming and fiercely proud of their Indian heritage. A heritage said to be founded on the shores of Lake Titicaca, where Copacabana lies. Making it landlocked Bolivia’s main beach resort.
