For me summer holiday memories are all about bare feet, the sea, the smell of aerogard and barbeques, and long days and warm nights often spent in a caravan park by the ocean. This piece is about all of that, but I also wanted to infuse it with a bit of darkness and mystery …Holiday villages are so full of life and colourful characters by day, but at night when all have gone to bed and secured their temporary little homes, they can be quite strange and creepy…

It’s out there. The painting makes use of the hand-drawn sketch as a basis with the end painting being the beginning and end for color palette definition, meaning colorized from the heart and head through the brush and onto the canvas with no intervening studies. Stand your ground and give ‘em your best ‘bulldog scowl’... An enormous excavator makes threatening gestures to the cooling towers beyond, which are indeed living on fast ticking borrowed time. If they ‘blow’ these babies I wan’t to be around when the plunger goes down!

This bathroom in the guesthouse we stayed at in Potsdam, Germany was clean but gave me the creeps anyway.
This colony of space dwelling apes is defending one of its outpost planets from a furious sun god. This recently uncolonized planet is home to a variety of flora and fauna including, but not limited to, goldhorn elk, kaleidograss, and of course, my imagination. The apes are using a suction/light powered tube launcher to lob kamikaze baboons toward their certain dooms. .. to save the world. There are two people, regular homo sapiens, watching on a couch made out of stone and grass, far from the action. I found this one on CU Campus, so I’m glad I went back to school. I got a good series from this one. There is still some detailing/clean up left on this one.
/ / / This shot was taken at the Seattle Center near the Space Needle. This art installation creates great lines and shadows…...I do tend to love the blues….....

The time after mom left was hard, but dad always found a way to show us a good time. In the spring, he would take Jess, Nix, Potter (my sister, cat, and terrier) and I out to the open space and we would fly kites. Is that a UFO?
