*Here is another way of viewing my work, it is in a list format and displays the number of comments I have for each Photo… “Click Here….

Here is another way of viewing my work, it is in a list format and displays the number of comments I have for each Photo… Click Here… This uses a combination of two existing functions already found in RB, Tagging and the Search function. Here is how to do it….. 1. For this to work and for it to display just your work you need to come up with a unique tag. For example your first name and birth date jim28071977 2. This unique tag is entered as a new tag into all existing photos, writings, T’s, etc and add to all future works. 3. When you have done updating all your work with your tag, enter the tag into the search field and hit the Search button…. This will return and display all your work. 4. There is a gray bar just above the top row of your images and has text which will say ‘1 – 24 of 38 wall art, t-shirts and more for [your tag] —-- change layout:’ at the right hand side of the bar are two icons click the first one and your work will be displayed as a list. This is the view, which you want….. 5. Now go up to the menu bar on the top of the page and copy the link in the address bar it will look something like this http://www.redbubble.com/search/find/yourtag?display_mode=list 6. All you need to do is copy this into your profile page in the area that you write your description. / The format is “To see my work displayed as a list…. Click Here” : http://www.redbubble.com/search/find/yourtag?display_mode=list Note: you have to remove the space before the colon just after the quotation marks…. Good luck! PS You can also click on the “Related items” menu at the side that will sort and display your work into cards, posters, etc…... UPDATE: There has been some more changes from RB and the filter page is not going to ‘list’ view by using the code described above…. / However if you add ‘&page=1’ to the end of the URL this seems to force it to display as a list (see example below) / http://www.redbubble.com/search/webbew?display_mode=list&page=1

Here’s a cool effect that you may want to try out at sometime. Create a new file 500px X 600 px with a transparent b/ground @ 72 dpi and then duplicate the layer. This is just a file to practise on :-) Grab your Shape Tool and choose Custom, then go to the top toolbar and pick the black triangle shape. Working from the centre of the image, draw the shape upwards past the top of the file edge (see image below), you might want to bring up the transform tool by using Ctrl + T on the keyboard to get the shape how you want it, then duplicate the shape layer. Once you have duplicated the shape layer, go to the history palette and take a snapshot of the work so far. If your history palette isn’t visible go to Window>History and click on History. To take the snapshot use the middle icon (it looks like a camera). With the duplicate layer active, bring up the Transform Tool by clicking Ctrl + T on the keyboard. In the centre of the box that appears for the transform tool you will see a small circle with four small arms sticking out (this is the rotation axis for the transform) you will need to drag that down to the centre of the bottom line. With your cursor outside of the transform bounding box, rotate the shape to the right or left – whatever takes your fancy. Then you can hit the enter button to accept it. You’re probably wondering why I told you to take a snapshot when you had duplicated the shape layer – it was because the next part of this doesn’t always turn out correctly spaced and you will have to go back to the snapshot to start again :) Taking the snapshot after you duplicated the shape layer, means that you can bring up the transform tool again and try a different rotation – more or less, depending on how it turned out the first time. You should still be working on the shape copy layer, now, hold down the Ctrl + Shift + Alt keys and then press the T key repeatedly until you have as many of the shapes in place as you want. You should end up with something similar to the first image – although yours may be properly centered :) When you click onto the previous shape layer or b/ground layer, the bounding boxes will go away. You can see that mine didn’t quite end up centered and that I would need to paint in the small area top right that didn’t quite fill. You could merge the 2 shape layers at this point and lock the transparency to fill the shapes with a gradient or different colour. You could also clip an image with the shapes, you could also fill the b/ground with a colour or image – play around with it a little bit and see what you can come up with. On the first image I filled the b/ground layer with black, merged the 2 shape layers, locked the transparency of the layer and then filled with a circular gradient. On the 2nd image I simply used a 3 pixel black centered stroke on the shapes after I had filled it with the gradient.

RedBubble is an awesome community of people from around the world. The collective goodwill that I see every day on RedBubble fills me with hope for humanity. And I think it’s important that we strive to recognize those folks who really make this community the supportive and fun place it is. To this end Jo is running an awards event over here to help identify the most helpful bubbler. So I encourage you to check out the nominees (below) and cast your vote. Speaking of awards, RedBubble is proud to have received two “Cool Company” awards last night. The Cool Company awards are run by Anthill Magazine / to ‘celebrate organisations that are doing things differently or defying convention to bring about positive change’. We love the guys at Anthill and what they stand for (supporting innovation, entrepreneurship and people having a go) so it was a great honour to receive an ‘X-factor’ and ‘Internet’ award last night – on behalf of the 84,515 members of RedBubble. We’ll post some photos shortly … Ciao, - Peter PS – Here’s a description of the awards: X-Factor Award: Some businesses just have something that no one can describe but almost everyone can sense. The X-Factor Award will be awarded to the company that demonstrates extraordinary levels of innovative, entrepreneurial and creative flair. The winner of this particularly subjective award will be assessed against the vision, strategy and execution of its exceptionally cool business product and/or service. Judges will apply their own beliefs and attitudes toward the concept of ‘cool’ when evaluating the X-Factor. Online Business Award: The internet has forced modern companies to re-think established business functions, from marketing and distribution to human resources and project management. This award was developed to recognise Australian businesses that are harnessing online models to achieve positive commercial outcomes. Judges will consider the novelty and/or innovative nature of the business model in the Australian marketplace.

The absolutely stunning Danielle Prowse just posted a journal about Tee Cutting. This strange sounding concept is actually a way to make ulta creative fashionista features for your RedBubble t-shirts using nothing but a sharp pair of scissors. How great does it look!? So I thought I’d give it a go. When I ran up stairs to show the guys they mostly laughed, but I think in the good way. Perhaps cut and paste isn’t in my skill set quite yet, but I’m really liking where this is going. Making art out of art.

  • Xmas Tree Hugs to everyone!!! The Season is truly upon us hey….busy people bustling everywhere, the heat’s a shocker in these parts too, and the only joy I find in shopping is the air conditioning !! My car has no air cond…so I look like a drowned and cranky rat by the time I enter the cool interiors of the shops…and I am sure the retailers look upon me with suspicion as i loiter in cool doorways pretending to be interested in Christmas goodies…lol / Tree Hugs Oh how I yearn for a wintery Christmas, just once!! just once!!! oh puleeeeeze, this heat is killin’ me…. at least I have air con in my studio….so it’s an enticement to create more art than usual….perhaps I will be more productive as I slink out into my studio for some much needed cool refreshment….oh if only I had a loo out there (and a bed might be a nice addition too) however I do have a lounge…upon which I found a lovely redback spider crawling just 2 day ago….so i doubt i’ll be getting tooooo comfy out there any time soon!! Also i would very much like a drip feed for coffee…anything that helps prolong my stay in the shed….of course i can make coffee out there…but the constant trips back inside the house to the loo are somewhat distracting….one, i need the coffee to stay awake, I need the cool air to keep me alive and moving, but both these things cause too many toilet trips…so Santa….what say you to some plumbing??? / Tree Hugs the unadulterated drawing now the real reason for this journal, to thank you delightful NinaMosi for purchasing a card of Tree Hug * Please visit Nina’s portfolio if you’re ever out her way in bubblyland…she does fabulous encaustic artwork that will not disappoint… it’s gorgeous stuff…plus she’s a sweetheart… you may wanna get to know her too :) Thank you Nina, and thank you everyone, and thank you Santa for listening if you’re out there….looks like a big storm over my place is gonna bust the heat right outa this joint PS:* QUESTION What are you guys doing for Christmas this year? Is it hot or cold where you live right now….what sort of yummy food will you be eating, family traditions, etc? bfn / luv yas / KT
