Wild horses in Utah cooling off in the watering hole. Each band takes their turn at the watering hole. As one band of horses finishes getting a drink and cooling off another band will move in. Usually the watering hole is where I find the most activity going on. If a band takes to long the other band will move in and this is where most of the fights break out.

Not much is known about the Asian Golden Cat. It is a rather elusive predator, and most of what is known about it has been found out in captivity. The Asian Golden Cat lives throughout Southeast Asia, ranging from Tibet and Nepal to Southern China, India, and Sumatra. It prefers forest habitats interspersed with rocky areas, and is found in deciduous, subtropical evergreen, and tropical rainforests. The Asian Golden Cat is occasionally found in more open terrain. It ranges from the lowlands to altitudes of up to 3000 meters in the Himalayas. The exact population of the Asian Golden Cat is unknown. It is hunted for its fur and, increasingly, for its bones in traditional Chinese medicine. However, the greatest risk posed towards the species is habitat destruction. Series of 9 photographs taken 21 August 2009, Turkey. As usual, snap happy, Sony Cybershot. This lizard was lurking behind overgrown bouganvillea that was been hacked. The lizard literally hung around for a few hours – got a bit miffed when I got too close, but stayed long enough to have a reasonable photoshoot. / Possibly a tad over-enthuiastic but lizards generally move fast and previous attempts have resulted in no more than blur. I appreciate nature more now than ever and enjoy animals in their natural habitat. Courtesy Wikimedia here The family Chamaeleonidae are a distinctive and highly specialized clade of lizards. They are distinguished by their parrot-like zygodactylous feet, their separately mobile and stereoscopic eyes, their very long, highly modified, and rapidly extrudable tongues, their swaying gait, and the possession by many of a prehensile tail, crests or horns on their distinctively shaped heads, and the ability of some to change color.
